Cape Cod National Seashore Cape Cod
What a magical place, we started from Provincetown and worked our way back with wonderful beaches, lovely lighthouses, stunning estuary's and villages, delightful trails.
The seashore offers something for everyone including hiking trails, bike paths, camping facilities, fishing, fishing, beaches for swimming, surfing and windsurfing and self-guided walking trails.
5 Ways to experience it
Race Point Beach Provincetown
It's an easy walk out to the beach unlike some of the other beaches on the Cape The beach is clean and if you are lucky you just might get to see whale's "spouting" offshore as we did.
One of my favorite beaches ever, whale and seal sitings , beautiful dunes and views of lighthouses.......right off bike trails.
2 Ways to experience it
Coast Guard Beach Eastham
Thursday morning was our tour day for the beaches of Cape Cod.All of the beaches are great, but this one has a nice extensive sandy beach.
The fee is lower than many of the town beaches too (buy the annual pass if you think you might do more on the Seashore if you have a weekly rental or will be going to other NPS sites over the next year).
Head of the Meadow Beach Truro
... tidal pools at low tide, seal sightings, great waves (depending on the wind) for boogie boarding and skim boarding on the shore, it is rather easy, in comparison to other National Seashore Beaches, to get to.
Its a nice place to relax.. one of the best beaches here at the Cape... best time to be is early morning to noon as crowd is fewer...it also has waves which is good for surfing.
Mayflower Beach Dennis
Hotel staff suggested we go to Mayflower Beach and WOW! Wide clean beaches with soft white sand greeted us as we left the parking lot and snack bar behind us!
I would actually call it the most popular beach in Dennis - and Dennis is known for its excellent beaches.
Herring Cove Beach Provincetown
Warm water you can actually swim in, calm easy waves, the best bathrooms of all the National Seashore Beaches, an (albeit touristy) snack bar, and a great sunset.
Beatifful dunes with large beaches you can walk for miles and its got different section to make everyone comfortable
Madaket Beach Nantucket
Aside from amazing beaches and fishing for blues and striped bass, this is a great place for amazing sunsets
While it has been one of favorite beaches; the sunset is worthy of the price of admission to visiting this wonderful island.
Skaket Beach Orleans
Skaket Beach in Orleans is one of those perfect inner Cape beaches for families, especially those with young children.
After 5pm, it's a great option when nearby Brewster beaches are too crowded, as the parking lot is much bigger here.
Wingaersheek Beach Gloucester
We go here often and most seasons by boat and love the scenic bends, the flowing water, the rocks for kids to climb and the white sandy beaches above the muddy flats.
Like all of Gloucester's beaches, it is well cared for and manned by very competent, professional and friendly lifeguards.
Crane Beach Ipswich
Yes, it is one of the best and popular beaches in the state and the estate is gorgeous too but I want to add that the trails on this property are a gem too - well-marked, well maintained and beautiful.
There are many beautiful beaches in the world and Crane Beach ranks with the best of them.
South Beach Edgartown
South beach is a great spot to relax and enjoy the vineyard's great beaches.
There are many child friendly beaches open to the public, but if you like bobbing in gentle surf, to sometimes surf, South Beach is for you.
Good Harbor Beach Gloucester
As beautiful and unique as the rocky beaches are, a sandy beach is still the best...and Good Harbor Beach is by far the best beach in the Rockport / Gloucester area.
I've been to Hawaii and gorgeous beaches in California but there is just something about this beautiful beach that keeps me, all my family and all my friends coming back year after year.
Nauset Light Beach Eastham
We find that this beach tends to have the best surf out of the National Seashore beaches, with stunning views of the cliffs behind.
As a southerner used to typical southern beaches, Nauset Light Beach was fascinating and a beautiful contrast.
Nauset Beach Orleans
Really lovely beach, as well as are the beaches within driving distance from this one, that offers lighthouses and are perfect for taking serene pictures.
Voted one of USA's best beaches and its easy to know why! Great beach.
First Encounter Beach Eastham
Cape Cod is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, and First Encounter Beach in Eastham is a wonderful spot to spend a relaxing afternoon.
The beaches have soft white sand, the vegetation is a brilliant green and for an evening wedding -- Oh, those Sunsets.
Surfside Beach Nantucket
This is one of the prettiest beaches on the east coast and if you are lucky you will see seals.
One of my favorite beaches in Nantucket.
Long Point Provincetown
But it's worth it for stunning views, less crowded beaches, swimming, fishing, or hanging.
Really beautiful spot for a walk or read on the beach, great views, and fantastic light on the lighthouse sides as the sun rises and sets.
Chatham Lighthouse Beach Chatham
Walk the beach and just enjoy the incredible natural beauty of the water and beaches.
I love long, beautiful beaches for walking and enjoying and this is a favorite.
Marconi Beach Wellfleet
Marconi beach nice waves, many seals ,great swimming The setting is stunning you can understand Thoreau's interest in the outer beaches of Cape Cod.
Its so huge and wide open... it has the grandness of west coast beaches.
Gray's Beach Yarmouth Port
The beach is great and at low tide you can wander far out onto other beaches!
Recommend by our Local Inn owners Mike & Helen from the nearby ‘Inn at Cape Cod’ You must stop and have a relaxing hour on this beach and walk the boardwalk to see if the seals are about !
Corporation Beach Dennis
There are a myriad of beaches that you can visit when you are a vacation on the Cape but/and Corporation Beach is a great little find if you happen to be in Dennis.
One of the BEST Family beaches on the Cape
Jetties Beach Nantucket
The beauty of the Jetties is that it is two beaches in one - on the harbor side is wonderfully calm inviting waters - at low tide you can wade out and explore - on the Nantucket Sound side (left of the Jetty) is m...
Terrific views, wonderful sand and perfect for walks along the beach.
Siasconset Beach Nantucket
Among Nantucket's Best Beaches!
An ideal part of the island to visit...highly recommend biking there on nice bike paths away from traffic....very quaint town/village with history and an amazing surf beach and environment...take the time to lunch...
Menemsha Public Beach Menemsha
... your own alcohol is welcomed and recommended as the only sell water there..most families set up a picnic area on the beach and eat dinner and play board games until the sunsets... Very relaxing and beautiful :)
Great little beach perfect for beach combing and sunset views
Nantasket Beach Hull
Fantastic beach reminds us of the beaches in maine all natural.Hub and i visited in December and i was able to walk on the beach or sidewalk.
However, unlike the Duxbury, Scituate and many of the Cape Cod beaches, there is a lot more to do and see than just sand and surf.
Craigville Beach Centerville
TIP: Admission here gets you into all the Barnstable beaches.
Craigville Beach is one of the best beaches on Cape Cod.
Bass River Beach South Yarmouth
Actually all the public beaches in Yarmouth were nice, I just was particular to this one because in addition to the snack bar, the beach and swimming, it had a great little pier area to watch boats and the ocean.
Best Beaches
Old Silver Beach Falmouth
The south facing beaches tend to be more rocky, while Old Silver is smooth sand, and the waters of Buzzards Bay are very warm compared to other bodies of water around.
It's comparatively warm (as Cape Cod beaches go) and the sand is soft and "sugary" (as opposed to First Encounter Beach, for example, which is also lovely but has much coarser sand).
Plum Island Newburyport
Uncrowded beaches, wildlife preserves, a delicious dinner at the PI Beachcoma.....this island is a little slice of Heaven.
The Island offers splendid beaches, a wildlife refuge, nature trails and food venues to showcase fresh local seafood.
Seagull Beach West Yarmouth
Definitely one of the better beaches at the cape if you're just going to relax and unwind.
Our resort offered passes to the local beaches and they recommended Seagull Beach.
