Views are amazing and there are so many photo points for the non-competing tourists with a camera . The cafe at the top corner gets busy and they close at 5pm so pls remember to get there before 4pm

A very moving tribute to just some of the innocent and what happened to them. Feels bad taking a picture. At the moment a lot of feelings about tensions elsewhere are publicised there as well. Along the river just up from Parliament

Really cool market, similar to ones you can find all over the world. Ground floor has local and fresh food/snacks while second floor has actual meals and souvenirs. I liked that the shop keepers do not hassle passersby. There were so many local goods to buy (I'm sure several were mass produced, but some seemed authentic). There is also a fish market in the basement and a toilet (not free of charge).

A lovely spot to relax and get contemplative in Budapest. Excellent for a sunny day and perfect for flower lovers. There is a small Japanese garden, but my favorite parts are the wide lawns in the rose garden. Central and accessible, this is a must-do expedition before departing Hungary. Wear walking shoes!

Having seen the prototype in Marlow, England, I was keen to see this full size version! It is good that each bridge has a plaque recognising the other. The Marlow version has traffic restrictions (metal bollards ensure that cars are driven VERY carefully) but the Budapest version, after strengthening in 1914, and rebuilding in the 1940s, is very much wider and stronger.
Interesting that the lions are made to the same design as those in Trafalgar Square in London too.

Everything in Budapest is pretty and this is no different. Plenty of photo opportunities and things to look at. Easy to get to and even in the rain, a magnificent sight

Absolutely loved this entire area while on a private tour! The entire complex of Buda Castle, Matthias fountain, beautiful architectural buildings, and colorful houses/buildings - absolutely amazing!!

The views are amazing from the top, a reward for the slog up the steps and pathways. The citadel itself was sadly closed off due to renovation work but we were still able to enjoy the vista above Budapest. The one disappointment was the amount of rubbish strewn around the area considering it's a UNESCO site. There were cigarette butts, plastic cups, general rubbish all around and some tissue paper clearly used by visitors 'caught short' without a toilet. Surely if it's a heritage site then it should be cared for and maintained, not utilised as a rubbish dump for people too lazy to carry their own rubbish back down with them. The situation is not helped by the overflowing bins that had not been emptied by the local authorities. There was a general feeling of neglect which was a shame for a site that has the potential to be a more enjoyable experience.

I can't believe this is a free to visit tourist spot! So beautiful! And the park behind the castle was gorgeous! My friends and I were talking how we can spend the whole da y there! I definitely want to go back and explore the area some more.

P.S. Behind the castle on it's right side you can find a miniature sculpture of Dracula. Turns out there are miniature statues like these all around the city and you can literally do a treasure hunt to find them all. (we highly considered it so if we go back we are definitely doing it!)

I visited during the day and evening, but there were no crowds as I expected. Although when I visited for the first time 7 years ago, the street was crowded with people, but now it is not. This may be due to inflation and rising prices. Vaci is an expensive street, so even before I visited it, I knew that I should not sit here in the restaurants, because unlike other places in the city, it is much more expensive here. Souvenirs and shops are also more expensive, so if you want to buy something, it will be better to do it elsewhere.
But you don't have to shop or eat here to visit. You can just walk around and admire the architecture. Everywhere you turn you will see beautiful architecture. Along the street there are several small interesting alleys.

A wonderful experience walking through this lively area! The bars and restaurants offer a diverse range of culinary delights. The weekend market stalls add a unique charm, creating a bustling scene. The place comes alive with brilliant lights, making it a perfect destination for those looking to enjoy great food and drinks in a vibrant setting.

The view is amazing. But…Citadella is closed.. you can walk up to it and enjoy the views from the entrance, but that is it. They only put a sign next to it with no date to when it will open again. For now it is under construction. We went April 30th 2024

The best place to spend in the island is in frint of the fountain. At the beginning of the island, you will be greeted by the musical fountain, which is the biggest tourist attraction on the island. It was built in 1962. The fountain got a bigger repertoire in May this year. It runs every day from the end of April to the end of October, and the music and sprinklers make the atmosphere even better. Music is played at certain hours of the day. Next to the fountain there are many benches, where you can sit and enjoy.

Of all the 8 bridges on the Danube River in Budapest, this one is the most favorite of the city's residents. This green iron bridge is located in the southern part of the city, next to the Central Market Hall, that is, it connects Fovam Square in Buda and Gellert Square in Pest. Although it looks big, still with 333.6 m. is the smallest bridge in the center of Budapest. I passed this bridge 3 times and enjoyed walking on it. On the iron structure, you will often see people sitting and waiting for the sunset, and they stay even in the night hours. From this bridge there is a beautiful view of the sunset and the river. If you take a closer look at the bridge, you will find one of the hidden mini statues of Mihaly Kolodko. On certain weekends of the year, this bridge closes to traffic and is repurposed for pedestrians only. So yes, on certain weekends in June, July or August, the bridge is closed to traffic and given over to young people and those who want to have a picnic on the bridge or party.

An amazing cornucopia of delicious ness.
Fresh from the farm. I would personally recommend the meat 🥩
We bought Venison which my lovely wife cooked to perfection.
Sausages/ bacon jams and pickles an Asian lady gave me tips on how to make a fine chicken curry👍There was cider and ale and things to eat. Easy parking a short 🚶‍♀️ walk away.
A most enjoyable few hours rounded off with coffee and brandy in The Fleece. The Corn Hall had stalls selling things hand made and
    different. Check it out.
