Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum presents a variety of Hungarian art. It’s interesting to read about how Hungarian art has differed from that of neighboring countries throughout history. There are some beautiful pieces here. However, if you’re in a rush or just not that into art, it’s not a must-see

We recently stumbled upon the Trash Art Museum in Budapest, it's an absolute hidden gem! This unique museum showcases an incredible collection of life-sized sculptures and artwork made entirely from scrap metal and other discarded materials. It's a mind-blowing display of creativity and craftsmanship.

If you're looking for something a bit different in Budapest, I highly recommend visit!

Was a funky museum! A nice place to see some different art. Some of the pieces are like optical illusions. We spend 40-60 minutes there and had a nice time!

Fairly typical of museums of this type, we have visited similar in Edinburgh and Liverpool. There were illusions we had seen before but there were some we hadn't. It was a little smaller than we hoped but kept us out of the rain for an hour or so.

I love all art but especially painting and I saw a number of pieces by well known artists I had never seen before in any books. It was a joy to find them and made my heart beat harder. I would love to return but it's a long way from California.

First of all, the museum is located in an excellent location. Even before I came to Budapest I planned my visit to the museum and even though it was among my last places I visited in the city, I still did not regret coming here.
Here you will witness many lighting effects, relaxation room, music rooms, AI room and many other things.
There are several rooms that are different. The museum has a ground floor and one floor.
I spent about 30-40 minutes in the museum, but I think that more time can be given to this place.
The entrance fee is 15€ and I think it is expensive.

Fantastic little museum, not known to the masses.
I had seen some of Imre Varga's work before and loved it eg. The Tree of life at the Synagoge.

I arrived 1½ hour before closing time, and there where no other guest than me.
One of the custodians guided me around for all of the 1½ hour, with explainations of each sculpture with no extra cost. He was really dedicated to his work!

Take the time to visit this little museum with some interesting works of Imre Varga.

The Mucsarnok is a beautiful art museum on the Hero's Square. It is a neo-classical building inside and out. My absolute favorite part was the "Garden of Philosophy" exhibit. It is an eight-figure sculpture placed at the focus of the exhibition. The sculptures were 3-D printed!

If you are interested in Art Nouveau or the arts and crafts movements across Europe in the 1920`s and 30`s, this museum in a suburban street is very worth a visit. It contains gorgeous items from a personal collection and spread over three floors, it presents these objects in individual rooms. The information provided to explain the items is well done and the history of how it has come to be is also interesting. If you are after a quiet and relatively short walk from the Museum Of Ethnology with its must-see roof garden, this lovely little museum is recommended.

We had a buffet breakfast at the restaurant and was given free entry to the secret museum.

I loved this small museum and spent lots of time in here reading about the history of Budapest.

If you like history and have any sort of interest in the area you're visiting when touring then visting this place is a must. Learning about the jewish quarter and the history was my favourite part.

This museum is a must if you want to explore contemporary art from Eastern Europe. A very authentic and modern exhibition with many thought-provoking works. And it's free!

Unbelievably small pieces of art visible only through microscopes. It's hard to imagine how the artist was able to create these wonders.

The whole museum smells like consumerism. It felt like the main focus wasn’t on light art itself, but the location and the hype. There were minimal international artists, it feels like most of the installation was created to fill the museum
