Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fascinating work of public art created by artist David Cerny memorializing the great Czech novelist and writer. Sections of Kafka's head move separately but in an organized manner creating a mesmerizing sight. The show takes place on the top of the hour from 8am-9m and lasts 15 minutes so time your arrival correctly. Worth including in your itinerary when visiting New Town.

What an amazing and fun experience! My son and I came across this quite by chance, but what a find. There's a huge range of models - from Chewbacca to Pinocchio, from Elvis to Alien, from a Ferrari to Winnie the Pooh. An added bonus is that some of them are interactive - you can sit on them, open doors, swing chains, hold weapons. A really great place to visit for any age!

We visited this museum in Prague in 2008. At that time, it was a small walk-up museum displaying some antique memorabilia with a time line of events about the Czech experience under communism and socialism . It has now grown in to a multi-media interactive museum with time lines and technology targeted at those who might typically visit this museum ( American tourists , of which I am one). It continues to provide a valuable history lesson for all visitors who likely are not cognizant of this Czech history. While I still enjoyed this museum, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed at the capitalist face-lift.

Wenceslas Square is the commercial and cultural center of New Town in Prague. At the top of the half mile square is the National Museum and in the center is the equestrian statue of Saint Wenceslas, the patron saint of Bohemia. The square is flanked by shopping arcades, office buildings, hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, fast food chains and cafes. Site of many historical events and it is a traditional setting for demonstrations, celebrations, and other public gatherings. During the Velvet Revolution in 1989 against Soviet influence, large demonstrations with hundreds of thousands of people were held here. It is also the site that student Jan Palach set himself on fire in 1969 to protest the 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia. There is a memorial displayed remembering his sacrifice. Wenceslas Square is a bustling area but is quite commercialized. It gives you a taste of the "real" Prague although I prefer the Old Town and Lesser Town as a tourist visiting the city for the first time.

This museum is very special. Perfect if you love the history of cinema and specifically the history of Czech animation including Soviet ones. It is in interactive and offers a really great journey to its visitors. I took my son with who was very happy doing live sound design and animation. We also watch our first Virtual Reality movie (ask for it 50 Krones extra) really excellent movie about mental health. This museum is now very dear to me. Have fun!

Modern building constructed in 1996 and designed by Frank Gehry. Intriguing architecture with the adjacent buildings looking like they are dancing together. Is it worth going out of your way to see with all the other wonderful sights in Prague? Probably not. However, it is easy enough to reach by hopping on one of the trams travelling along the river especially if you combine it with the nearby worthwhile Cyril and Methodius Church or if you plan to spend some time relaxing along the river.

This is the site where Czech paratroopers went into hiding after their assassination attempt (Operation Anthropoid) on Reinhard Heydrich, the highest ranking Nazi assassinated during WW2. You can still see the impacts of bullets around the window from a gun battle with the Nazi's days after the attempt. There is a small but very well done museum on site too that outlines the events surrounding the operation. From the museum, you enter the crypt of St. Cyril where some of the paratroopers made their last stand. The crypt now houses memorials to the fallen heroes. To better understand the significance of the event and this site in particular, I highly recommend watching the 2016 movie "Anthropoid" before you visit.

Unique place to experience some weird illusions, nice opportunity to get some properly cool photos as well, tricky to find as it's in a shopping centre and the museum itself is not that big, but not expensive
a good laugh and worth visiting.

This 75 minute tour was quite well done. You do not pay in advance but rather reserve a time slot for a tour and then meet in a hotel lobby. From there you take an elevator down to begin the tour. The guide takes on the persona of a Russian military person gathering intel during the Cold War and walks you through several rooms of a bunker used for spying and other things. Quite unique and our guide was great!

The Mucha Museum is easy to find and located centrally in Prague. The museum itself is not very large and can be visited easily in an hour, but still boasts some gorgeous images and information about the Czech master.

I wanted to see archaeology but never found any! Fossils were well displayed but there was no geological timeframe.
Early history had some interesting objects but pretty disappointing for a national museum. Fair enough, there was a lot of Czech history, but that was not interesting for this tourist.
The ‘buffet’ was just a small counter with a few sandwiches and cakes and very limited seats (lots of people sat on the floor).
Mobile ticket bought in advance worked on and off.
