Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Colleen KUpper Ballinderry, UK128 contributionsGreat Christmas Market with mostly food stalls and the food they make is delicious! We tried the Prague ham which was roasted on a spit and carved and served with crusty bread and chocolate and hazelnut waffles. Our teenager tried spiced hot apple juice to warm up and we had mulled wine which was delicious...beautiful Christmas tree in the Square which looked fabulous at night all lit up...surrounding buildings were elegant and atmospheric... we enjoyed our visit.Written 27 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KookieherePrague, Czech Republic660 contributionsA traditional Christmas market, not huge, but not small either. The wooden stalls are situated on a square next to the Saint Ludmila's Basilica, which makes it an incredible backround. The market always has a beautiful Christmas tree in the middle and Christmas lights instalations over the main area, plus it's usually surrounded by small Christmas trees. They sell all the necessities here like trdelník, bratwurst, mulled wine, mulled meadow and Christmas punch and their original versions which you won't find anywhere else. They also sell sweets like cotton candy, gingerbreads and churros. You can buy here presents as well, they always have some stands with gloves and hats, candles, jewelry, Christmas decorations and ornaments as well as Prague souveniers. It is usually pretty crowded after sunset, so I suggest visiting before noon or in the early afternoon.Written 14 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KookieherePrague, Czech Republic660 contributionsA small cute traditional Czech Christmas market. Despite not being located in the historical center and being surrounded by modern buildings and busy streets, it is surprisingly magical. The wooden stands offer traditional foods and drinks like trdelník, bratwurst, mulled wine, mulled meadow or Christmas punch and you can also shop here for Christmas necessities like advent wreaths, Christmas decor, candles and ornaments. It is also a good place to shop for gifts - you can find sweets, crystals, jewelry, alcohol and similar stuff in this market. They don't have a Christmas tree if I remember it correctly, but you will feel Christmassy nontheless.Written 14 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KookieherePrague, Czech Republic660 contributionsQuite small Christmas markets but you will find the basics here like mulled wine or bratwurst. It's mostly about food and drinks here, no stands with anything else (or very few). There is a nice Christmas tree and it's never crowded. It is situated on a busy modern street but it is kind of hidden by trees.Written 14 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was a lot of people and noise. I would recommend not going if you have small kids. It’s also not cheap.Written 5 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Neil KLiverpool, UK829,647 contributionsLocated on Namesti Jiriho Z Podebrad is this wonderful Christmas market my twin brother Stephen and I visited as we were pub and bar hopping around this part of the city not to far from the Zizkov district.
Quite a large Christmas market ,nice stalls beautifully decked out for the Yuletide season ,the stunning church as a beautiful backdrop and snow falling heaverley made for a great setting for a Christmas market ,we warmed up on glasses of hot wine that were just so tasty ,despite temperatures dropping to minus eight the market was busy and I must say I loved it here ,if your in Prague over the Christmas period Namesti Jiriho Z Podebrad Christmas Market is most definitely well worth checking out.Written 21 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
