What travellers are saying
- barratt84Wallasey, UK25 contributionsGreat feature in the library. Took us a while to find it but worth the energy. Lots of people waiting to fulfil their tic toc fantasiesWritten 31 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PaulBMaastricht, The Netherlands2,541 contributionsWe only had time to visit the church.
The interior is awesome with marveloouss stucco, woodcraft and ceiling paintings.
Not to be missed.Written 22 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Kathryn MBerlin, Germany418 contributionsBeautiful rooms but with limited access. I understand they wish to keep the books from damage, but I feel they could do that and allow a better experience. The objects that you can view up close are quite random.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MargiePrague, Czech Republic294 contributionsLoved everything about this place.
Interior, atmosphere, service, food, beverages.
Food was very tasty and delicious. Polite service. And very beautiful interior.Written 5 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - LottelliWirral, UK2,290 contributionsIt seems unusual reviewing a congress centre but I guess that I went and like to share knowledge!
The red metro line is conveniently outside (vysehrad). It took me a while to work out there are stairs to the other side of the platform which go down from the end of platform you’re stood on.
The centre is a huge building.
The main congress hall is comfortable. There are many other rooms and an exhibition hall. I must say in most of the rooms the seats where a bit uncomfortable (besides the congress hall) and my back is suffering a bit - maybe it was all that sitting down!Written 16 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - George BAberdeen, UK1,548 contributionsWe found this tourist office helpful to provide some good maps of Central Prague. useful place to pick up leaflets of what is on etc. It is just along from the Old Town Hall which has the astronomical clock which is under repair at present. The entrance to the clock tower here where you can go up for great view of the square.
Many marriages take place here as well in the hall at the back..Written 27 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - bob2bkkBangkok, Thailand5,780 contributionsLike to add my 2 cents or in this case 2 koruna to this review. I was at the Art Deco Imperial Hotel, which is about one block from Palladium Mall and about 2 blocks from Municipal House. There were 2 money exchange places right near me. One was giving a larger amount than the other. One thing to ask and look for is whether they charge a fee. The place with the higher amount charged a fee, which brought the exchange to lower than the other place that did not charge a fee. So compare and ask them straight out. How much do I get for 100 dollars/euros/yen, whatever your currency. And ask any fee ? Then compare to other places. The place I used was at 13 na Porici. Use a bank first choice, and avoid private places that are big chain operations.Written 30 October 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Stirling BOttawa, Canada553 contributionsMy partner bought us tickets to attend Swan Lake here in December where we saw the Moscow Ballet which was fitting as this place is a testament to Soviet era architecture. A few short stops on the subway and we were there. This place is huge. It is used for trade shows and sometimes cultural events. We entered and wondered if the event would be well attended as it seemed rather empty. But the auditorium was pretty full. The concourses are all enormous and so you feel as if you are almost alone even though there are people there. We sat in the balcony and the performance was excellent. The seats are more like lazy boy recliners without the recliner. High back chairs and c9mfortable. My partner told me that this is where the Cimmunist party had there congresses so,with the enevitable long speeches they wanted to be seated comfortably.
I saw an poster for a return engagement by the same ballet company performing Romeo & Juliet in March. If in town and you like ballet I am sure you will enjoy.Written 5 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Miro E1 contributionI had bad experience at the airport because they kept changing our gates 3 times in 2 hours and we were rushing from one part of the airport to the other every half hour... You can't rely on the information on the screen above... If you don't check often you can miss your flight... Not a good experience for us...Written 7 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jana CPrague, Czech Republic4,446 contributionsThis is a huge library but apart from that that's it. The entrance is very impressive with a huge "pile" of books built into a column.
The actual building is OK. If you want to visit an impressive old library head to Klementinum for the guided tour.Written 21 January 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Veronika B2 contributionsMy first visitation of CAMP was during the trip to Prague with my architecture classmates in June. When you enter the main entrance U can see very stylish interior with cafe. After a few steps the big black presentation room, with breathtaking presentation wall, where places are presented 1:1 scale. We also saw a great film in amphitheater, bought a few excellent books and enjoyed great coffee at the outdoor terrace with the view at modernistic Karel Prager's building. Really recommended!Written 26 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- G Unit14 contributionsAfter reading a favourable review in lonely planet and being someone interested in Czech history I sought this place out. You have to ring a buzzer and are then asked what you are there for. You are then shown to a tiny room without any explanation or introduction.
On the walls is some basic information about havels life and work which you can read in about ten minutes. There are no other facilities and you can’t even read or buy his books.
I’m sure they do some useful work there but it is not inviting or interesting to normal visitors. It is a huge missed opportunity with all the visitors to Prague when you could showcase his work and why it mattered. It should be a museum of democracy showing how the struggle was waged and why it matters today. At the moment it is a total irrelevance.
MUST DO BETTERWritten 5 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - GPP75 contributionsVery kind guys e great and useful maps for free, also of other cities for your future trips. Great place for all kind of informations.Written 28 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sam KweiSan Jose, CA170 contributionsThe Vaclav Havel Airport Prague is a standard looking airport without much anything special. What I like about the airport though is the convenient location of the bathroom right near the exit. What surprised me too is that we did not need to go through custom again when transiting via Zurich. We only needed to go through border control via Zurich and then can directly exit once we arrived at Prague. The walk is especially short from gate to the baggage pickup, which is convenient. If you booked the Prague Airport Pickup, they wait right outside the baggage claim area. Once you go out the door and up the escalator, you are on the way to your hotel. All in all, I consider the short walk, cleanliness of the airport, and the convenient bathroom locations great pluses for this airport.Written 19 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
