- OldAccountantNorthampton, UK352 contributionsThis (the Veletrzni Palac) is easily the most under-rated and from the (many) times I've been there over the last 20 years, the most under-visited major art museum in Europe, probably because of its location outside Prague Old Town. The collection, and semi-permant display, following a re-hang, is modern and predominantly (as you would expect) Czech. This three-floor exhibition has been re-arranged superbly and, unless you have been before, you should expect art from the last 150 years that you have not seen previously. To really see what is in this building you need around six hours - I did it in three wet afternoons at roughly two hours per floor. Or you could do a whole day including coffees, lunch and a well-deserved pre-dinner drink in the modern and super popular cafe. Go! A tram stops close by or the Vltava metro stop is only a few minutes walk. A tip on the cost, you can buy a combined year long friends ticket which gives unlimited access and is excellent value, particularly if you want to do this site and others over a few days. - Tiberiu_BaranyiTimisoara, Romania18,192 contributionsPart of the Czech national galleries - the Schwarzenberg Palace - or Schwarzenberský Palác - is to be found in close vicinity of the Prague Castle - it is a few 100 meters away from the "Gate of the Titans".
It is a beautiful building - owned by the Schwarzenberg family for several centuries - the building is a mixture of architectural styles but what is most impressive is the exterior decoration with the black graffiti ... so it is definitely worth stopping and taking a few pictures of the building itself - should you not have the time to go in an visit the museum that is housed inside.

- KWD_11Cheltenham, UK541 contributionsIn contrast to crowded Prague castle, the Sternberg Palace is an oasis of calm, as it doesn't feature on the tour guide circuit. In fact, you may have difficulty in finding it as it doesn't even feature on some tourist maps - yet it's just across the road from the Archbishop's Palace, with the entrance down an unlikely looking lane. Most of the art is fairly forgettable, but there are some gems - by Rembrandt, Durer and Dou. There's also a quirky little cafe that does light lunches. From the first day I saw the window, I was captivated by the paintings. Katie is very friendly and professional and helped us a lot in our choice. Every time we look at the artwork we purchased, we remember our pleasant stay in Prague and the visit to Katie's gallery.
I hope we can come back soon.

Now when in Prague very close to the city center and the astronomical clock I found this museum and definitely had to enter.
Honestly it was a very nice experience - audio was nice - the graffities on display were also excellent - Banksy , whoever he/she is ,for sure is a very influential artist of our times and to enhance the mystery of his/hers works , till today it is puzzling that we don't know his/hers identity.
If you know his works you'll see a lot of rats in his works - it became a sort of a trademark for Banksy - but also he is targeting a lot of the stereotypes of todays society ... and he's doing it with sarcasm and using strong symbols.

It is extremely worthwhile moving out of the main centre of Prague to visit this fantastic building. The ticket allows you to visit three huge floors absolutely packed with interesting artworks not just from domestic artists but also a selection of world-wide names. It is huge and you can easily spend 3 -4 hours here. everything is well presented in English and the way the pieces are organised are well thought through. Fantastic place. The actual building itself is well worth the visit. - ErikSlovakia11 contributionsWe visited during Hatari's Dance or Die tour in July. Venue is great, club-like for artists of smaller format.
You can find two bars inside, one which is right at the entrance door and second thats in the venue hall. Everything was organised well. Shout out to the bartenders who were amazing, friendly and helpful - we were told where and when the artist are coming out after the gig and special thanks for borrowing me a sharpie :) .
We took Uber to the concert, which was a little bit challenging for the driver, as we passed the place several times until we found the right road to get there. However, just five minute walk will take you to the bus, and if I remember correctly also a tram station.
