Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- bahareh e1 contributionOur wine-tasting experience was absolutely exceptional. The ambiance was inviting, and the selection of wines was carefully curated, showcasing unique flavors and excellent craftsmanship. Bobby, who served us, truly made the experience unforgettable. He was professional, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and cared for. His thoughtful recommendations and passion for wine added a personal touch that made the visit even more enjoyable. We left with not only some amazing bottles of wine but also wonderful memories. This experience comes highly recommended, and Bobby’s outstanding service is the cherry on top!Written 17 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Emilie C1 contributionThis December my family and I more than enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is beautiful, the inside decoration is simple yet cozy with an absolutely beautiful view on the vineyards, and the outdoor benches offered an equally beautiful view amongst the calming atmosphere. At Harkham the food was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food we ordered, that all are our ‘favourites’ - the pasta were cooked to perfection. Moreover, the service was excellent. In particular, Evan, was exceptionally educated on the entire food and beverage menu and cuisine in general, offering much better service than many other restaurants - I haven’t met a waiter as passionate as him for a long time. It is safe to say that I heavily recommended this restaurant.Written 1 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BarkleysRockingham, Australia78 contributionsWhat a wonderful winery that’s very welcoming to dogs. We booked a picnic experience which comes with a bottle of wine, sadly the weather was very hot so we instead sat on a comfy sofa and enjoyed our wine and cheese indoors. The selection of meats and cheese was amazing and they were all very delicious. The white wine was crisp and refreshing on that hot summers day too. The staff member was extremely bubbly and made us feel at ease. He also had a wealth of knowledge on briar wine and wine as a whole. We would definitely come back here and recommend to dog owners.Written 12 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NarelleTumbi Umbi, Australia2 contributionsWe stayed at Leogate Estate under one of their Staycation packages. It was excellent value with 2 nights accommodation in their beautifully appointed villas, which were clean and really comfortable and had the most serene view over the Brokenback Range, use of mini bar included, a 3 course dinner for 2 at the Gates Restaurant which was divine, wonderful service and attentive staff in the restaurant (they do a degustation menu as well which is delicious), a wine tasting at their Cellar door with Matt who had exceptional knowledge of viticulture, enology and the history of the Vineyards and 6 bottles of really excellent wine all for $500 for 2. Add to this sightings of the local wildlife wandering peacefully through the grounds, you couldn’t really ask for a more pleasant place to stay. Highly recommend this place.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Wayne R124 contributionsIn a region that is famous for wines, we asked a local where is good and different winery. (Not a label we would see in Uncle Dans)
There are so many, and he recommended this one.
What a great recommendation it was.
We love our Reds, and Dave took us on a most wonderful and palette tantalising journey.
With his winemaking skills and vast knowledge, he challenged our concepts and educated us with new varieties (to us) and different plays on some old favourites.

- Ros C4 contributionsThe three of us visited on 7 February 2025, and even though we were running late for our tasting, due to Sydney traffic - it was no problem. Mark was our host and he was extremely knowledgable and friendly. We tried a number of their wines - even the vintage 2014 aged Semillon which was not usually for tasting! We enjoyed the wines and purchased a mixed dozen, the pet dogs especially Muscat were always up for a pat. Our first time visiting this winery and it won’t be the last.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WarrenAusBurleigh Heads, Australia397 contributionsThis was our first visit to Hunter Valley having visited and experienced other wine regions.
We enjoyed our drive into Hunter Valley and after settling in decided to visit Tempus Two and then McGuigan Wines Cellar Door. They are located next to each other. We were informed that these are owned by the same company.
Trevor looked after us and was well informed about the McGuigan Wines. At a cost of $10 per person, you get a choice of 6 wines to taste. This cost is not deducted if you purchase wines. However for every 6 wines you purchase, you get a seventh (lowest cost of those you purchase) for free.
The grapes for the wines come from many regions rather than just Hunter Valley.
We particularly enjoyed (and purchased a selection including) the Mastercraft Noon Harvest Shiraz (a sweeter Shiraz), Mastercraft Personal Reserve Langhorne Creek Cab Sav (deeper flavours and priced a little more than others), and Mastercraft Shiraz.
McGuigan is worth a visit and their wines are good for the tasting.Written 29 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
