As my friends wanted to taste wines, I thought they would like the Orange Mountain winery, forgetting to tell them about their liquors! So as I had been there before I said to the Manager, I would meet them all at the tasting room & off they went on their walk through the small winery & into where they make their wines & liquors!
I meet them upstairs in the tasting area & thankfully we where all served water before any wine was served but soon the manager was serving wines & of course I asked straight away ... may I try your liquors please? My friends looked at me as the manager of Orange Mountain Wines told me to keep quite, with a wink! All their white wines are lovely but as soon as the cherry liquor was poured, that was it .... my day was finished. I love their cherry liquor, & to me it is the best!
We thanked him for a job well done & went to the shop, somehow all of us brought a few bottles of cherry liquor plus a few other wines but I think Orange Mountain’s cherry liquor is the best!!

Very friendly staff with good selection of local fruit. Would like to have seen more local produce such as cheeses and more vegetables but stock was low when we visited. We will definitely go back for apples and plums.

Love this cidery, being one of the first in Australia. Managed to taste the special Pommeau and wow! bought a bottle and will bring out on a cheese night to bring out its full flavour. Thank goodness they sell their ciders in Canberra so we can restock. And the non-alcoholic ones will become a fave in summer.

We visited here in March and so lucky to be able to pick ripe figs.

Contact with the owner of the farm was almost instant and they appreciate contact before visiting.

We were the only visitors at the time, so Alison showed us which figs were ripe for the picking, We learnt that best to pick when almost squishy, as figs do not ripen when picked as other fruits do.

After pricking a bucket, we had these weighed (paid a small sum) and also bought some of their jam.

Each morning, fresh figs topped our cereal - yum!!

Very disappointing. Designated area for tasting was uncomfortable and unkept. Wines very expensive and under whelming. Wouldn't recommend.
