Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Main Yarra Trail is a hiker-biker trail that runs from Templestowe, an rural suburb of Melbourne, to the inner suburbs. If you follow the trail along the Yarra River, you will pass Fairfield, where you can swim, as long as you check the water is palatable. Dight's Falls are also interesting. It's a long hike, it pays to plan your trip in advance.

My wife and I visited this park recently to enjoy walking for exercise, the scenery and see Kangaroos in the wild. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon when there were very few people around. Plenty of car parking spots.

This Park offers over 120 hectares of recreational and environmental parkland perfect for picnicking, cycling, canoeing, jogging and walking.

The Westerfolds Loop Track (4.8km circuit) is a gentle walk through the parklands, past the old Manor Mansion, woodlands and native shrub-lands. We saw 12 Kangaroos in separate groups and a variety of birds during our walk.

The cafe here has really nice food and good vegan options. Vegan raspberry muffin was very yummy. It was a treat to see a nice mob of kangaroos on the hill and some little mobs when leaving in the afternoon. Lots of sweet wood duck families too. It’s a good place to stop and take a walk down to the Yarra Trail. There’s a nice old cart on the way down which makes a great spot for a photo.

Only downside it that it is quite run down and unfortunately the playground is rather dangerous due to being overgrown and a lot of rabbit diggings leaving holes for little feet to trip in. My daughter enjoyed it nonetheless!

Candlebark Park is in Templestowe on the opposite side of Fitzsimons Lane to Westerfold Park and adjacent to the Yarra River. It is an excellent area for beginners. The tight corners and rocky sections provide some challenge and opportunity to hone skills. There are always kangaroos to be seen and plenty of bird life. Good parking is available. Toilets and picnic facilities are just a short walk away by crossing under the main road. I have ridden there about 30 times in the past year. It stands up well to wet weather when other MTB areas are muddy.

This is not a park in the sense of where you have grass and play. It is a place of importance to the native Australian's who inhabited this area. It is a stop on a path leading alongside the Yarra River.
There is a lookout looking up the Yarra River.
It is beautiful and well worth visiting. We accessed it from Petty's Orchard where we had had afternoon tea.
