Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    It was a delightful day.
An early start to catch the 8.30am Ferry from Brooklyn Wharf.
A group of Bushwalking friends walked up the road from the Ferry.
Choice Point occurs when the road forks.
Whichever way you go the views are marvellous. Around the shoreline, up Riverview Road, it's a delight to circumnavigate the Island.

Refreshments at the Wharf Cafe before returning to the mainland for de-brief and lunch.

    All great!
    Good exercise.

Mid week would be the best time to visit this place as you'll probably be able to park right in the carpark next to the place. There are facilities such as toilets and covered picnic tables and you can check out a number of vantage points that will please the photography buffs.

You can walk from the carpark straight down to the level pathway that leads around the little headland the park is on. Brooklyn baths are on one side and a pleasant little picnic area (which has more facilities) on the other. If you haven't brought your own food there are some little takeaway places in the town itself.

Wheelchair friendly if you stay on the sea level walking path. If I was inspired to go into the baths for a swim I'd probably wear an old pair of joggers - oysters about and who knows if any are on small rocks in the area. Fishing is an option from a couple of small pontoons and you could easily launch kayaks etc here.

We confirmed with Brooklyn Ferry Service that dogs were allowed however, they had to be muzzled or in a dog container. As we didn't have a muzzle (super friendly dog), we brought his container. I'd asked if we could leave our container on the ferry as we were returning on the next circuit, however, were told it's safety couldn't be assured. So we left it at the shed on the ferry wharf next to a stack of unlocked bikes. When we returned an hour later to catch the ferry it was GONE!!! The moral of the story, don't bring your container - they provide muzzles on the ferry (wasn't told this earlier) unless you bring your own padlock and chain. Sadly, among this little island of 300 people lurks a thief!

Website and booking experience were excellent. Travel advice was useful. Courteous and helpful staff. Even as a local who’s travelled the river previously, the tour commentary was very interesting. Morning tea/coffee and lunch were most acceptable.
In summary, a thoroughly enjoyable three hours.

This is such a top spot to go kayaking, camping and hiking. Secluded little beaches backed by beautiful trails.
Bob was amazing even agreeing to meet me on Xmas day and then I had to postpone due to bad weather. Price was good for 24 hire and Bob couldn’t have been more helpful. Kayak was in good condition, safety briefing, pump, maps and first aid kit provided as well as helpful tips on tides and beaches and of course what to do in an emergency. Highly recommend Bob and his business. Brooklyn is beautiful and it’s fairly easy kayaking if you go with the current and wind.

What a great day out. Hawkesbury river is a beautiful spot. Dave is pleasure to deal with & very knowledgeable about the fishing spots. The boat was spacious & comfortable which makes it a great day out. We will definitely be coming back!

Today I went with 22 others from a local Probus group and what a great day. We went to Patonga to catch the boat and then crushed to Brooklyn to pick up others who came in by Hawksbury River railway station.
Our host was a Mr Peter Rea who provided an outstanding commentary on the history of the various areas we passed. Discussions on WW1 and WW2 and how important the bridge was to build to connect Australia by rail. So much history. Excellent photos and videos and dioramas provided by Mr Rea on large screen while we cruised around the waters.
We had.a break for coffee and stopped for a comfort break (although amenities were onboard).
Afterwards we finished up at Patonga and had lunch at local hotel opposite the wharf - food was high quality.
The cruise tour about 4 hours.
    An outstanding day.

This was one of the best days out with the family so far! We hired a boat for the day on the biggest boat (Calypso) and went up river to a place called Milsons Island. After fishing there for an hour or 2 we went back down river and saw the array of locals on the river in big flat bottom boats and a small yellow boat flying past. We went back down to do some more fishing between the 2 bridges and caught a few more fish. At about 4:30 we went back in to be greeted by 4-5 people who had to pull us in because of the low tide... We gave our fish to the kids there and packed away. Overall this was a fantastic day and I recommend this to everyone. They also do tinny hire if you are looking for more a 2 person day out. Thank you so much and I appreciate everything that was done for us on that day.

We have been booking our girls weekend away with Hawkesbury Afloat for the past 18 years and always have the best time. The staff are fantastic and nothing is ever an issue. Highly recommend. Look forward to our trip every year.
