Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- roy vTraralgon, Australia6,078 contributionsWe were there yesterday, not busy being a weekday.
Beautiful golden sand, lovely calm water and all was very clean.
We had a great walk along the grass areas above the beach and found nice seating and table under lovely shade trees, lovely for a picnic.
I can imagine it gets very busy on the beach during holidays and weekends .
We enjoyed our time there.Written 21 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But if you are a little nervous of nudity on the beach this is not the place for you. It is one of the nudist beaches in the region so consider that before going there. But highly recommended, not crowded and very peaceful. Remote from the township of Torquay so no shops or facilities apart from a basic toilet block at the car parking area. Access to the beach over soft sandy paths meandering through the sand dunes.Written 8 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon BCity of Greater Geelong, Australia4,415 contributionsFisho’s is the local go-to for a long walk on firm sand, without or with a dog. Also good for young families as sheltered bay offers gentle water for safe and shallow play.Written 22 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kamal PByron Bay, Australia10,008 contributionsBreamlea beach was an unspoilt stretch of seafront ideal for walks and relaxing. Beach was bordered by sand dunes and the lookout deck constructed among the dunes area gave more than a 180-degree view of the ocean front and the landmass. The area was not patrolled by lifesaving units; therefore, whether it was designated as a safe area for swimming was a question. However, there was a signpost indicating that lifesaving service will be in operation when the red and yellow flags are displayed in “Bancoora beach” about 1.1 Km away. An area towards the left of the beach was strewn with Basalt type rocks extending towards the sea with many small sea anemones and a variety of Molluscs like snails and clams were attached to the rocks. We spotted a Sea Urchin too. Among the rocks were small pools formed by trapped seawater due to sand barriers. They were constantly getting filled by the rolling waves. It was an interesting natural ecosystem for observation. Waves were not strong, so the sea was safe enough to tread in.Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon BCity of Greater Geelong, Australia4,415 contributionsGreat Surfcoast place with small car park found hidden on west side of SLSC.
Often take my tween boys when swell 1-2 m for a fairly safe near-to-shore surf.
Swallow estuary mouth beside break is Spring Creek.
Supervise kids on pretty grass hill adjacent to sandy beach.

We stayed at The Sands Golf Resort, which is within a short walking distance from this beach.
The walk from The Esplanade to this beach across the boardwalk is very scenic and pleasant. The sandy beach was very secluded during the time of our visit. There were a few locals walking their dogs.
This beach is around 3.5 km from Torquay town centre, which is probably why very few tourists would come here and is probably the reason why there has not been any reviews on Tripadvisor yet.
This beach is very nice. It is one of the best that I have visited and I have been to a few hundred beaches in several countries over the years.Written 17 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great for kids of all ages on wheels or using the adjacent playground. Skate park has a safe and mild learners area (blades, scooters, skateboards) plus the deeper and steeper area for more advanced risk-takers. - The Wandering ReviewerMelbourne, Australia12,046 contributionsThis is a lovely, open reserve that is important to the area as it’s dominated by coastal salt marsh and ancient coastal moonah woodlands.
Plus the Karaaf wetlands.
The waterways are influenced by the seasonal freshwater flows of Thompson Creek and the tidal inflows from Bass Strait. It is home to many bird species, including the threatened Orange-Bellied Parrot.
