Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We bought delicious cheeses, olives, salami, pastries and wholemeal sourdough bread to have for lunch. Everything was organic and tasted delicious. Coffee was ordinary.

We visited the Farmers Market on the Torquay foreshore in June 2022 and although the weather was bad, there were enough stalls to wander for a few hours. There was live music as a great background, and we were able to find parking very easily despite there being a lot of people. After wards, we wandered across the road the a little cafe (which had public toilets either side ~ very handy after eating/drinking at the market) and we had a nice lunch and coffee before taking a walk along the lovely foreshore path. There were playgounds everywhere for the kids (including directly next to the cafe if you want a peaceful coffee while still being able to supervise the kiddies). In the warmer months, I imagine there would be more stalls to explore but there were enough to make the experience enjoyable.

My friend and I drove down from Geelong to visit this Market, being the first one back for this half of the year and we weren't disappointed. Only complaint was, we shouldn't have eaten breakfast as there are so many food stalls we wanted to try them all. Lots of lovely homemade gifts, plants, book stall, we had a great time. Stayed for a couple of hours just wandering along back and forth. Stopped to listen to the live music, purchased some early xmas gifts. Great family market. Very pleased with the day. Will certainly go back again.

I bought the kids down from the country for a beach holiday and we decided to hit the surf shopping precinct.

The kids had a ball going into all the shops and looking at the different types of surf clothing surfboards beanies hats and everything else

Bought a few things T-shirts jumpers pants bikinis but didn’t drive all the way to Torquay to shop or look for clearance items so happy with what we got and what we paid

    Great Ocean Road Distillery

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Ocean Road Distillery located in the industrial park in Torquay with Pearls of Madam Brussels fame. The proprietors, Ann and Chris, have been experimenting with and creating gin for the past two years. They presently have six varieties, predominantly based upon botanica that they forage from the surrounding area. The botanica that I can remember includes river gum leaves, kelp, saltbush, and pigs face, and I think there were some more. One of the six major lines they produce tastes of the ocean…unsurprisingly given the botanica.
They have a beautiful copper still, which can produce some 300 litres at a time. More than enough to give you a sizeable headache. They also have a bar and are well set up to provide gin tastings. I sampled 3 types of their gin cocktails they were fabulous. If I had not been driving I might still be there! I then tasted a mystery sample and to my complete surprise it tasted like Christmas pudding. It actually was. They have produced a gin infused with Christmas puddings made by Ann’s mother. Their Christmas Pudding Gin Liqueur. You just have to try this. It is amazing.
Do not visit this area without checking if the Distillery is open and if it is go there. You will not be disappointed.
We then went to their restaurant in Aireys Inlet on the hill. The Gin Kitchen. That is the subject of another review. But is equally fabulous.

While visiting Torquay, we read a story in a local newspaper about the couples' journey to developing this specialty CHOCOLATE business. We immediately visited and were delighted with the flavours, choice & presentation. The speciality chocolates & slices are made with the highest quality ingredients - many locally sourced . The products are certified organic, 100% plant based & without anything artificial. We tried the lemon & coconut slice and hazelnut ganache. The flavours are sophisticated. We also bought a couple of take-away gift boxes and some drinking chocolate. Do your taste buds as flavour and visit soon. Online shopping available too.
