    Cycling the Wine Region South Australia with Tour de Vines CHECK DETAILS
    This trip was arranged by Tour de Vines for us. We also included the Barossa and the McLaren Vale cycle options.
    It was a very shaky start as we were given the wrong itinerary expecting to be collected from our hotel- this did not happen, and we were expected to have a car available to get between each start point. Very stressful to begin with. However, we managed to get that sorted and hired a car to begin these cycle rides. The Barossa was wet so wide drove the cycle plans instead. Great stop at St Hallets Winery.
    Drove onto the Clare which was the best riding option and scenery for us of the three valleys. First nights' accommodation was marginal. Great trail and plans were well arranged by the company. They had selected the best locations for lunch and wine tasting. Our accommodation in Clare was exceptional at the Clare Country Club Make sure you visit SevenHills -a must on this trail.
    Then a drive down to the McLaren Vale with an excellent stop in Hansdorf-Adelaide Hills- only issue there was the room was not great and we looked out on tin roofs !!! Check where they put you as there are better options available. Short bike ride in the McLaren Vale- high light being the stop in WiraWira Winery- fantastic. So- check you have the correct itinerary for your booking / check the accommodation in Hansdorf.
    We did not want to drive back to Adelaide and opted to head down to the coast Victor Harbour. The company would do no refunds for us change- stating they had already paid for the options we decided not to do. i.e., 1x dinner/ 1x hotel night and breakfast. I failed to understand why they could not hold those payments in reserve for further bike bookings!!!!
    So, the cost was increased by having to book a rental car when not expected. And the lack of consideration for the cancellation of plans.
    Read you details very carefully before paying up.

    Amazing day
    What a wonderful tour with lots to see not just wine tasting, Dave makes everyone welcome & caters to all. Not what we were expecting but very surprised with the day & enjoyed the company we went with & an expert tour guide thoroughly enjoyed our tour with several very nice wines tasted.

    Perfect day in the Clare Valley
    Mr Willson is an excellent host and knowledgeable guide for what was a very interesting and enjoyable day. Mr Willson took us to small wineries for leisurely tastings, to places of historical significance where he told the stories of the early pioneers, and we shared an exceptional lunch at a local restaurant- Paulette’s.

    Tour with the best locals
    Congratulations, Dave (Mr Willson), for providing our small group with 4 wonderful days of fascinating sites and tastings. You & Tom, as true locals, showed to have so many contacts, insights and anecdotes - all with your seamless organisation. Touring with you was a pleasure!

    Essential wine visit at the Clare Valley
    Cathy and George at the Cellar door tasting were outstanding hosts. We were also extremely fortunate to meet Peter Barry, current owner and son of the original winemaker, Jim Barry. Peter gave us an extraordinary insight to the history and current activity. It was a great privilege to become his guests. The wines are outstanding and we left with bottles of Wolta Wolta (a Riesling collaboration with Germany) and Armagh, the top Shiraz. Jim Barry wines not to be missed at the Clare Valley.
