Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Happened to be in Dampier at the right time of month. At Pearsons Beach, on the east side of Burrup Peninsula, we lined up at the beach in our car just after dusk for an early moonrise. There was a reasonable gathering so get here early for a good spot.

    It was spectacular.

The Tourist Information Centres are generally our first port of call for information and ideas for the respective region. With very few exceptions, we have been given friendly & helpful assistance at each one, with the exception of yesterday. We popped into Karratha TIC and was assisted by THE MOST friendly, helpful and professional Staff member we have come across to date. A huge thank you to Denyce for the great information, ideas and suggestions that enhanced and made our stay in the Karratha region very memorable.

We drove in from the road north of Roeburne. About 90km. First 85 k of dirt road is in very good condition, maintained by Karratha. As soon as you cross into Ashburton Shire, the road deteriorates, and the last few kms are terrible. We spoke to others who had come from the other direction who said the road was appalling. Python Pool and the cliff walls are spectacular. We went for a swim and it was wonderful. Worth the drive and a great day trip for us camped at Cleaverville.

Great structure. Well cared for gardens. Worth a look around.
Karratha should be proud of this precinct.

    Some great views of Karratha.

This is a good walk and it's very popular, but the trail is not well marked, some of the trail markers were missing and damaged

We actually stumbled upon this heritage trail. And it was really enjoyable. The houses are nice restored and the settlement is nicely located at the river mouth. there was a cafe but that was closed while we were there. I would say, worth the do the d-tour

It is also part of a walking trail. But as it is often really too hot to walk, it is easy to drive up with a car and enjoy the stunning view over the town of Karratha

Council run campground with hosts in place: a lot of sites over several km of storefront but only one central toilet block: inadequate for number of campers present. OK for an overnight.

Preferred the similarly ran Cleaverville Beach just 20 minutes north of Karratha though.

Visited the Leisureplex for the splash pad/pool facilities several times during our stay. Great place for family fun and location to catch up with friends. Never too crowded. Always a seat or table available. Shame the cafe was closed for the duration of our time.

We did your tour yesterday and I can say from our experience the award is very much well deserved. Such a great experience. I wanted to go out again today with you and Jayden. Thanks for sharing your stories, land, rock art and mudcrabs 👍👍👍
