Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kris JHout Bay, South Africa45 contributionsThe River cruise on this george is an absolute must if you're visiting the area. It's simply beauty personified. The skipper and guide was Jamie - a local aborigine who is exceptionally knowledgeable and charming. The scenery is stunning and breathtaking.Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nicole VAustralia3 contributionsGreat little detour for swim / picnic or walk when travelling between Katherine & either Kakadu or DarwinWritten 30 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jan Tommy FSotra, Norway33 contributionsA must do when in the area! Lots of things to do, both on land and water. We enjoyed hiking and a canoe trip on through the gorges on Katherine river. The national park is well worth to spend some time in, and you can choose wether to spend a day or several.
The government of NT has imposed a fee for tourists visiting the park. It has to be payed online before visiting, and the price is a bit steep. I wish they would have made it a bit easier to pay, maybe at the visitors center?Written 8 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Start in the upper pool and drift along the 'lazy river' until you get to the lower pools. Take your pool noodles to really relax. The kids will have a ball!Written 18 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Virginia APort Campbell, Australia8 contributionsFantastic experience. Mick guided us and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. Good food, Micks’ vast knowledge of the environment, flora and fauna, and his passion for the area made it an unforgettable experience.Written 5 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amanda H14 contributionsWe were about 20km south of Katherine when we passed the turn off. Having Googled it we found yours ran on the hour. Given it was 10.55am we did a U turn. You must be wearing enclosed shoes to do tour. Christie our guide was very passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The caves exceeded our expectations. The infrastructure was excellent making it very accessible and the formations in general were well preserved. Well worth a visit. Easy parking even with a van.Written 26 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NodswollefWodonga, Australia319 contributionsYep, they are there so watch out for the croc's. They like to eat humans sometimes. That aside, this is a beautiful area and well worth the walk among lots of lovely flora and fauna. And very pretty too. Also good for a spot of barramundi fishing .Written 10 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KCDC2 contributionsBeautiful location to relax and enjoy Katherine’s country hospitality. Tasty, fresh homemade scones and a great assortment of tea, and coffee, for just $ 5 per person, enjoyed outside in the lovely gardens- a cool respite on a warm day. And a nice break on our bike ride! Volunteer staff so friendly and informative.
We didn’t have time to visit the historical part of the place; it looked really interesting so will do so next week. A must do, if here in Katherine on a Wednesday and Saturday.Written 19 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The ghost bats are amazing. Apparently this is a new addition to Nitmiluk Tours - I'd recommend going in a small group so you can hear the guide clearly - it would be easy to miss some of the information in a big group. Maybe a mic would help.Written 30 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
