What travellers are saying
- hannahChristchurch, New Zealand207 contributionsIn my opinion, it offers the best and the easiest reach urban hilltop view in New Zealand. It is so great to be able to drive up to the top, and you can choose to bike and walk up. Even though you don’t want to go up, you can still enjoy the view from the bottom of the hill (specifically from Craggy Range)
It has amazing view and great spot for sunrise and sunset.
If you would like to have light on the peak and ridge, you’d better go there in the morning or at latest early afternoon.Written 14 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - heidijejuJeju, South Korea34 contributionsOur stay in the Merlot cottage was superb. Rows of vines, beautiful sculptures, a bevy of quails, acorns and olive trees and tasty wines.Written 16 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- wendy lyons-beckTauranga, New Zealand189 contributionsWe had a stunning afternoon at this sandy beach with the locals. The water was clear and warm. Parking is a challenge. No food or drink options here.No rubbish collection so be a tidy Kiwi.Written 9 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Irish_Kiwi77Wellington, New Zealand1,220 contributionsIf you are in the area and like locally produced products, this is well worth visiting. I was very impressed with the amount of stalls there and the selection of products available. If you do like coffee there are three options available but be prepared to queue. A number of stalls had ephos machines, which was great as I don’t carry cash. There is a lot of parking available and it didn’t take me long to find a space. Will definitely be back when in the area againWritten 28 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- CandhansenHastings, New Zealand19 contributionsWonderful white sand and warm sea, in summer. A great place for my grandchildren to visit, the ones who like flat beaches with no rocks to explore.Written 2 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Melanieh910Auckland, New Zealand60 contributionsNice Sunday listening to music and drinking sangria at Abbe Winery. Good pizza. We went on a busy day so a bit of a wait. Bean bags and tables to sit at in the shade so was good. Things for children to do.Written 15 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KateWellington, New Zealand582 contributionsDelicious cider, a lovely day in the sun and great service!
The food here is a little unconventional, you buy various items like cheese, crackers, potato chips and diy your own platter - but that adds to the charm.
We had a tasting and tried all of the ciders. It was incredibly busy and there was only one staff member on but she did a wonderful job!Written 6 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Rachael B1,892 contributionsGood beer tasting and a lovely setup. We unfortunately went on a rainy day so the outdoor seating was not as pleasant as if it had been sunnier but service and experience was still good despite weather. We both preferred the Garden of Eden Farmhouse ale best. We also split the Brezel (soft pretzel with olive oil and mustard) and Brew grain crackers and baked Camembert. The crackers and cheese was the BEST! They really use every bit of the grain used in brewing that they can and it is so tasty! Grounds are also kid friendly and we saw plenty of people bring theirs.Written 20 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Andrew TAuckland, New Zealand27 contributionsGreat wine tasting in a fantastic and authentic setting. Really informative to hear about the brand, the wine and its origins / history at this family owned and operated winery. We were on hire bikes from On Yer Bike ~ also recommended👍😀Written 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DerekIlkleyIlkley, UK51 contributionsReally pretty venue and wines very good - they had some old vintages open including some old desert wines. Bottle from 2002 was lovely and not expensive. Was well worth the trip even on a rainy dayWritten 22 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Gabriel HBellaire, TX6,985 contributionsThis restaurant is open seven days a week, although it tends to close by 9:00 pm. The dining area is attractive, although it is somewhat informal. While the furniture is nice, no tablecloths are used. There is a full bar, although most guests would go for wines, since this is part of a well-known winery. The menu is selective and each dish is well prepared and presented. The flavors are wonderful, and the ingredients seasonal and fresh. The wines are also delightful and served with pride. We found the service to be friendly and reasonably attentive.Written 15 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Her witty banter, knowledge of the area, and relaxed attitude and candor made for the perfect day of wine tasting. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a day filled with positive vibes and laughter …..with some outstanding wine tasting to boot! Already planning a return trip and bringing all my friends.Written 8 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
