What travellers are saying
- hannahChristchurch, New Zealand207 contributionsIn my opinion, it offers the best and the easiest reach urban hilltop view in New Zealand. It is so great to be able to drive up to the top, and you can choose to bike and walk up. Even though you don’t want to go up, you can still enjoy the view from the bottom of the hill (specifically from Craggy Range)
It has amazing view and great spot for sunrise and sunset.
If you would like to have light on the peak and ridge, you’d better go there in the morning or at latest early afternoon.Written 14 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - DGM788Hastings, New Zealand11 contributionsAwesome place for families. Plenty of room to spread out. Clean place and really helpful staff. Kids loved the lazy river and slides.Written 18 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- wendy lyons-beckTauranga, New Zealand189 contributionsWe had a stunning afternoon at this sandy beach with the locals. The water was clear and warm. Parking is a challenge. No food or drink options here.No rubbish collection so be a tidy Kiwi.Written 9 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Irish_Kiwi77Wellington, New Zealand1,220 contributionsIf you are in the area and like locally produced products, this is well worth visiting. I was very impressed with the amount of stalls there and the selection of products available. If you do like coffee there are three options available but be prepared to queue. A number of stalls had ephos machines, which was great as I don’t carry cash. There is a lot of parking available and it didn’t take me long to find a space. Will definitely be back when in the area againWritten 28 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KielySmileyAuckland, New Zealand59 contributionsA lovely short walk, worth the drive. Some great spots to watch the birds and enjoy the scenery. Not much in the way of facilities or shade.Written 3 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jane AWellington, New Zealand155 contributionsLovely playground for children to have wet play and dry play. First time here. Noticed they had park staff supervising and watching children.Written 2 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Anna-Maria FWellington, New Zealand14 contributionsSuch a neat spot to take younger children.
We saw so many babies due to the time of year. The ducklings were only born the night before so it was pretty special to see them.
Special shout our to the lady that works there. She was absolutely fantastic speaking to us about the different animals
Pop in if you find yourself in the area.Written 9 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Rachael B1,892 contributionsGood beer tasting and a lovely setup. We unfortunately went on a rainy day so the outdoor seating was not as pleasant as if it had been sunnier but service and experience was still good despite weather. We both preferred the Garden of Eden Farmhouse ale best. We also split the Brezel (soft pretzel with olive oil and mustard) and Brew grain crackers and baked Camembert. The crackers and cheese was the BEST! They really use every bit of the grain used in brewing that they can and it is so tasty! Grounds are also kid friendly and we saw plenty of people bring theirs.Written 20 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JohnDeereQueenBay of Plenty Region, New Zealand67 contributionsEssential Sunday morning visiting! We bought greek basil and japanese parsley plants, GF pancake mix, macaroons, courgettes, smoothies and vegan coconut yoghurt starter amongst other items. A man with a wonderful voice serenaded everyone. All the stallholders we visited were cheerful and friendly as well as very knowledgeable about their products. If I lived in the Hawkes Bay I would go to this market every Sunday! I very much look forward to returning.Written 28 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
