Our stay in the Merlot cottage was superb. Rows of vines, beautiful sculptures, a bevy of quails, acorns and olive trees and tasty wines.

Very knowledgeable host, excellent wines, magnificent setting. We were already a fan of the wines but have some new favorites to add to our buying list.

Excellent tasting, very knowledgeable host and some of the best reds in Hawke Bay, a must do if in the area.

During our touring of the wine region, we stopped here to try their wines. We were greeted by the most pleasant woman who had a wonderful sense of humor and made our tasting experience that much better. We enjoyed several varieties, all of which were quite nice, but settled on a bottle of chardonnay.

Nice Sunday listening to music and drinking sangria at Abbe Winery. Good pizza. We went on a busy day so a bit of a wait. Bean bags and tables to sit at in the shade so was good. Things for children to do.

Good beer tasting and a lovely setup. We unfortunately went on a rainy day so the outdoor seating was not as pleasant as if it had been sunnier but service and experience was still good despite weather. We both preferred the Garden of Eden Farmhouse ale best. We also split the Brezel (soft pretzel with olive oil and mustard) and Brew grain crackers and baked Camembert. The crackers and cheese was the BEST! They really use every bit of the grain used in brewing that they can and it is so tasty! Grounds are also kid friendly and we saw plenty of people bring theirs.

Great wine tasting in a fantastic and authentic setting. Really informative to hear about the brand, the wine and its origins / history at this family owned and operated winery. We were on hire bikes from On Yer Bike ~ also recommended👍😀

Really pretty venue and wines very good - they had some old vintages open including some old desert wines. Bottle from 2002 was lovely and not expensive. Was well worth the trip even on a rainy day

Hidden away in an industrial area of Hastings, Roosters is rustic, welcoming and friendly. Start with the 5 glass tasting tray to determine what you are drinking and then order from a wonderful American/Asian menu. Our favorites were the loaded fries with Pulled Pork, jalapenos and delicious cheese sauce, Bao buns and pork filled dumplings.
The beer was excellent especially the draught and dark ale. A great way to spend an afternoon, but decide who is driving home before you get there. Enjoy, we did!

We called in for advice on exploring the Art Deco architecture Hastings has to offer. We picked up an informative guide for NZ$ 1.

The team proactively offered additional advice. Great service!

Like going to have a look at the displays they seem to invite a great array of artists to show their works. Nice friendly staff as well.

This winery is very special. A very small boutique vineyard with extremely interesting wines. Very reasonably prices. The wine maker has been adventurous in his choices. An absolute must visit.

Small winery with some interesting wines.
Zinfandel for some reason - average really.
Some of the oldest Syrah in the country.
