You start in the welcome center with displays explaining local history, particularly shipping and local shipwrecks. Then you can walk through the well-maintained village. When we were there there were no costumed "interpreters," which worked out well for us, as interpreters make my wife uncomfortable. A bonus is the beautiful views of the coast below.

Visited on a seriously windy winter’s day and it was fantastic. Amazing surf foaming around the rocks offshore and big crashing waves.

Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground is a great spot for families to spend some time outdoors. The playground has a variety of equipment suitable for kids of different ages, from swings to larger play structures. offering nice views and a relaxed atmosphere.

There are plenty of open spaces, picnic areas,, making it a good place for a casual day out. The area is well-kept, with easy access and parking nearby. Whether you’re looking to let the kids play or just enjoy the surroundings, it’s a nice place to visit if you’re in the area.

Remember to book in advance. They have structured shows so its rude to turn up late. ( we were lucky as we rocked up with no booking just before the entry).
The staff here all show so much care and respect for the animals. And it is very hands on with everyone getting to touch, hold and feel the animals ranging from snakes to lizards to wombats and kangaroos.
    Lovely ecxperience

Logan’s Beach whale watching platform is very well set up for looking out to sea to spot whales. Access is easy regardless of your mobility. Unfortunately the whales are a law unto themselves and we saw none in late October.

It has been quite a relaxed day, seeing the sights of Warrnambool. After our mandatory morning walk / breakfast / coffee, we set off for the day. First, the foreshore / breakwater area, where we saw Middle Island (the site for the filing of “Oddball” movie). A bit brisk and windy … so only a short stay.

There are lovely, easy coastal walks with spectacular views of the Merri River, bays, inlets, rockpools at low tide and coastal vegetation.

A pleasant stroll in gardens that are larger than they first appear. Well kept with water features, rotunda, pathways and a few chairs this is a lovely green space several blocks away from the main tourist part of town (i.e. the coast) and it's pleasantly quiet.

Plenty of staff were in attendance upon my visit and it's obvious great care is taken of these gardens.

Loved our walk on the promenade. The boardwalk makes it easy and on a fine day, it is truly pleasant.

Lots to look at here, plenty of stalls to look at. Unfortunately Darryl Kerrigan would be telling a lot of stall holders they are dreaming based on the prices. But I didn't see any jousting sticks or overhead projector for sale. Glad they are using the space but the long term future of the building is a worry.

Gorgeous old cemetery well worth a wander! Slowly being brought back to life and thoughtfully maintained. Surely gives you a feel for the Irish ancestry of the surrounding area

This beach gets well looked after by the local council with regular racking each day over summer. There are lots of parking areas nearby for access. There is a patrolled beach area near the surf club. There is a nice cafe at both ends and the popular breakwater to walk or fish from at the other end
