A popular local beach, alive with surfers, sunbathers, swimmers and walkers-by. The boardwalk extends for miles in each direction, with nicely groomed and well maintained landscape. A nice area to live.

If you’re interested, worth it. It’s a very small museum located in the inner Melbourne suburb of St. Kilda in a completely unassuming location, which makes it somewhat hard to find – for good reason. The museum covers the history of the Jewish population in Australia, from the penal colony times through WWII to today. Astute observers will notice the differences and similarities between the Australian, British, and American diasporas, especially during the time period around the War. One thing I found particularly interesting was a simple yet clear set of explanations on one wall that variously cover the evolution of letters in related languages, the relationships and topics covered in various religious texts, classifications of the prophets, and Abraham’s family tree. Since the museum is small, you only need about 30 minutes to cover it, maybe 45 if you want to do a deep dive.

We went to look for ducks, but found some interesting art on the gate and in the pond. Flowering was not quite there, being at the end of Spring. The rose garden was doing well. We went into the Conservatory and considered that this would be good if it rained, but the weather held off.

The St Kilda Pier is always a nice place for a stroll to see both ocean and city views and the penguin colony.

The pier is being redeveloped and will be constructed from concrete and timber and extend about 450 metres with a 50-year design life. The cost os over 50M and will be compleyted in 2024.

From the drawing on site cant wait to see its completion.

Though not as many penguins as you could see on Phillip Island, it is still a great place to spot some Little penguins at night, or even some during the day if you are lucky. Most evenings, fantastic sunsets.

Intriguing garden plots that include artifacts and "collectibles" reflecting their owners' artistic ideas. A quiet corner in St Kilda to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

This area is a bit nicer than when we came in January of this year. Some new shops here. The cakes are overpriced and don’t look the freshest. But a pleasant place to walk. We got some Israeli items from Coles but Woolworths seem to have dropped their kosher section. You can take tram 96 back into town for a fun ride along the faster tracks.

We attended The Palais Theatre for The Carl Baron Show. It really is an amazing theatre and a good size to enjoy a show. Although there were long queues when we arrived the efficient staff ushered everyone in very quickly. I have been to The Palais Theatre a number of times and glad they have now updated the bathrooms. Check out the upcoming shows, go along and enjoy.

Nothing massively extensive here. Just a garden area often utilised by picnickers, fitness junkies and the like and the gardens do create a nice aspect by the sea. Most people won't visit the area for these gardens but rather just enjoy the gardens as part of the St Kilda beachfront area.

There are facilities a little farther along and nearby are plenty of eateries of varying types and budgets.

We were staying at a hotel that was within walking distance from the St. Kilda Esplanade Market, so off we sent on Sunday to visit.
The market is located along a street that overlooks the ocean, which is pretty as a setting.
The market itself is small enough to be manageable without the feeling that you might have missed something because of the size.
There is a nice variety of crafts on display and for sale, and an occesional food stand in case you get hungry.
All in all, a lovely Sunday morning event!!

Very intimate small theatre where you can touch the actors. Highly professional. Great night out and easy to get to and park.
