- TesiPower8 contributionsWe absolutely loved our stay here! My husband and I travelled with a campingvan, the campground was great with lots of feathery friends visiting us. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the facilities are very clean. My husband enjoyed fishing in the river and dam while I had a great time feeding the animals sweet potatoes. I was even allowed to take a little goat for a walk. Last but not least, you support with your visit this safe haven and sanctuary for rescued farm animals.Written 23 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Cafes, kiosk, small stores club, pub and caravan park essentially plus a long expanse of beach across with road and parallel walking path. Pretty much everything is dog and people friendly.Written 13 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lau_5567Rockhampton, Australia734 contributionsWe visited as a family with kids aged 3-16, this is a very neat and tidy zoo, quite impressed with the layout and the animals on display.
While it’s not a large zoo, the animals including snakes, frogs, colourful parrots, friendly cockatoos, turtles, emus, lace monitors were displayed really well and enclosures all tidied and maintained.
Can do a lap of this place in 15-20 minutes however the park in the same area alongside the zoo is worthwhile for the kids and has enough to entertain all ages. Again very neat and well maintained. Lots of seating and tables for the adults and bbqs of you want a picnic.

Didn’t realize there was a sugarcane train. Bit of a surprise to find out It was a steam train not electric. Tickets were reasonably priced at six dollars each so the three adults and the granddaughter got the tickets we didn’t have to wait long to get on the train and it run around the park around the gardens, whistling and smelling of steam train. We really enjoyed ourselves. It made for a great day.Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
