Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to visit! Free entry, lots of birds to see, so even talk back and dance which our kids loved! The kangaroo enclosure was closed on our visit but could still see them. Amazing playground too. Well worth the visit!

Our kids (12 and 9) absolutely loved this playground! Such a wide variety of play spaces and activities for all ages. Lots of shade, seating, a splash pad, small bike track and gym equipment section.
Great place for picnics and to spend the whole day.
It’s well maintained. There is an onsite cafe, but it is pretty pricey.

I now regret previously riding past this gem of a motorcycle museum. I decided to visit this time, on my way from Sydney to Brisbane. This private collection of motorcycles, although most but not all fully restored, is immaculate. You can see the love and enthusiasm in the condition of each and every bike. From an electric Harley to 1950s BSA Gold Stars, Nortons, Triumphs, Ducatis as well as some one off custom builds. They even have an early model Royal Enfield Bullit 500. There is also a good selection of Japanese machines. Don’t forget the merch shop for all those unusual accessories, t-shirts, badges, pins, etc. On my visit, Gavin was an absolute wealth of knowledge on all the bikes on display. Don’t drive past this time!

We were highly recommend by lovely lady at information centre, she was not wrong. We try to visit museums and places of history when travelling around this amazing country and this is one of those absolute gems. The collection in this museum is amazing but it's the knowledge and passion of the 2 gents that volenteer there. We went at a last minute before it closed but the hour we had with the guys was just too short, we will return for a much longer visit next time.

Adjacent to the Bicentennial Park and playground is the Peel river levee bank walk which is dog friendly, pleasant and mostly shaded. Cross the bridge and head down to the gravel beach and swimming hole popular with dogs.

Wonderful display of historical objects and electronics related to astronomy, communications and space exploration. Also lots of minerals & gemstones, archeological bones and fossils of our native monster predecessors.
Interesting sound & light display of our galaxy. Highlight was the massive unique Hewitt telescope (only one in existence) housed in a shed with a roof that slides away.

Operated by a small band of volunteer enthusiasts this is a great place for kids with some hands on activities. Well worth the admission donation.

Suggest arriving on a clear evening before dark to explore the many exhibits and chat to the guides. The amazing Hewitt telescope is operated later. A few hours well spent.

This Forum 6 theatre contains a number of smaller theatres so that a number of films can be shown at the same time. Each theatre is therefore intimate and the programs are always updated.

Lovely shady walks with beautiful trees. Disappointed that It was so dry and no water in any of the natural ponds or the Japanese Garden. I understand that we are in drought but think the addition of an artificial bird bath that was kept topped up would be an improvement.

Tamworth Regional Gallery has a collection of art that is mostly of local origin. The Art Gallery is moderately large, many of the paintings are from well-known artists. Part of the collection is aboriginal; it is quite striking. Looking around the gallery is interesting, looking at the collection takes an hour or more. Entry is free.

So much to see and learn here. Tamworth has a lot of interesting history and you learn it all here. We had a guided tour and enjoyed it very much. Inside the home, the outbuildings and gardens. There are toilets here too, which is always good. I’d recommend this museum for adults especially.
