The wines were exceptional, and the staff was fantastic. The staff are brilliant and they have a number of different styles f wines. I hat the taste of wine, but one of the staff didnt give up. He managed to find a wine, that I could drink. The location, building and setting is really beautiful.
Adrian our host was friendly and helpful. He talked us through the wines and answered all my husbands questions.

However, the delightful Lana, who facilitated the tasting, was the star of the show. Some of the vineyards date back to early last century. The 2022 Premiere Chardonnay was the crowd favourite. A last-minute request for a cheese board added another dimension to our experience because we ended up with a great food and wine pairing. The quality of the wines was outstanding but it was Lana’s understated, highly informed and friendly demeanour that really made for a great visit. We enjoyed our drive into Hunter Valley and after settling in decided to visit Tempus Two and then McGuigan Wines Cellar Door. They are located next to each other. We were informed that these are owned by the same company.
Trevor looked after us and was well informed about the McGuigan Wines. At a cost of $10 per person, you get a choice of 6 wines to taste. This cost is not deducted if you purchase wines. However for every 6 wines you purchase, you get a seventh (lowest cost of those you purchase) for free.
The grapes for the wines come from many regions rather than just Hunter Valley.
We particularly enjoyed (and purchased a selection including) the Mastercraft Noon Harvest Shiraz (a sweeter Shiraz), Mastercraft Personal Reserve Langhorne Creek Cab Sav (deeper flavours and priced a little more than others), and Mastercraft Shiraz.

A small boutique family owned winery with a welcome that was world class. The wines and products were sensational and the storytelling was what made it so memorable. Stella the red kelpie is so welcoming and made the visit even more special. The purchases we made were great value and stunning quality. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Probably only point for improvement would be to NOT put cheese on top. - SallyC37 contributionsThere’s so many wineries to chose from in the Hunter, but we chose to come here simply because of the name (having not known much about wines!) We have a son Thomas and we drove past the building and it was beautiful - so it was a yes to our list.
We did a tasting the next morning and Karen our host was friendly and informative. We enjoyed chatting to her about the wines, the region and our trip.
