I did this tour 7 years ago and being back in Sydney again I wanted to take my husband so he could experience it. I’m so glad Sam is still doing these tours! We visited several beautiful spots and enjoyed some excellent wine & food. And of course it was so nice to visit the wildlife park to appreciate the amazing Australian wildlife. Everything is so well planned out. You get to do a lot without ever feeling rushed. Raphael kept us well informed of activities in general and what to expect, on schedule and great driver.

Our guide Bruno is an engaging and entertaining character who was more like a friend than a guide by the end of the day.

Wine, cheese, chocolate and spirits all combined with good weather, informative vendors and an enthusiastic tour guide. Cannot rate this experience more highly. Still talking about it months later. - Connor P13 contributionsWe were picked up in a luxurious, spacious, air conditioned bus which was a great start because it was a very hot morning. The driver was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and also very friendly. The winery’s we went to were fantastic, myself and my brother aren’t wine drinkers but we loved learning about how they are all made, all the facts and information behind the wines, and I have to say we both enjoyed tasting majority of the wines which was a nice surprise! We had lunch included in the trip which was lovely, one of the wineries had cheeses and the other had chocolates, cannot go wrong! One of the planned stops had a fire that morning and it was where we were supposed to have lunch. They were able to rearrange on the fly so we didn't experience a disruption. - TexasHomey41 contributionsWe had a wonderful day with Nigel. He was clever, a great conversationalist and took us to wonderful wineries that were off the beaten path. He knew about some very unique wineries and was acquainted with most of the people doing our tasting so that we got special treatment most places we went. He was a good driver, gave some interesting background. - Explorer8172377 contributionsWe had a wonderful time on our Hunter Valley tour! Our tour guide/driver Thalles was really friendly and helpful. We went to 3 wineries and a distillery. My favorite winery was Irongate. One of their winemakers gave a tour of their operation before the wine tasting which was really informative and interesting. They also had the best wines in my opinion. The other wineries did a pairing with their wines. One did chocolate and one cheese, so that was nice because it provided a unique experience at all the wineries. The distillery was pretty fun too, we samples gin, vodka and liqueur. They had so many different flavors to choose from it was fun. After purchasing a Hunter Valley Winery Tour via Groupon and followed all their instructions on dates prior to arriving in Sydney from Melbourne, I was abruptly cancelled and no refund was given and all communication ceased. Have put in a complaint in with the ACCC. Groupon were no help either so you are left out of pocket for a tour one has booked and paid for. Instead of rectifying the issue with the customer, they cease all communication.
