Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This peaceful and well laid out garden is well worth a visit if visiting Albury. Unfortunately we had insufficient time to do it justice, but is on our list for a return visit when we have more time to fully appreciate it.

Talking technically the dam's purpose includes flood mitigation, hydro-power, irrigation, water supply and conservation...but to the locals it's a bit of a water wonderland where you can partake in wakeboarding, water skiing, tube riding and swimming... if you know where the accessible areas are.

I visited the dam and went for a walk over it, and the vistas are breathtaking... being scared of heights, I found I could not stand too close to the edge at the midpoint... but nevertheless I pushed myself to walk, rather than take photos at the edge.

Whilst I was there in Autumn - a cooler month- the azure sky above me and the beautiful greens and blues of the landscape made for a truly stunning walk. Add in the historical boards that I could stop to read and all was right in the world for me.

There is a formalised carpark, toilets, picnic and BBQ facilities located here.

We had noticed this attraction while in Albury without realising what it was, so when we had the opportunity to visit it, we were elated.
A most impressive monument over looking Albury. Poignant and well worth a visit, both to reflect at the monument and to enjoy the views across the town,
    Highly recommended.

My curiosity extends to why this is called, "Noreuil"... and I did some research to find that the park was named to commemorate the actions on the 13th Battery of the Australian Field Artillery in the attack on Noreuil in France during World War One. Noreuil was the scene of a fierce engagement between Australian troops and the Germans on 15 April 1917.

Interesting... I did not see any information signs to give you that background, but then I was only there for about forty minutes. It's also not my first time to the park... I have grabbed takeaway from a bakery nearby on another occasion to eat here and found it to be peaceful.

On a recent trip, my co-worker and I were making our way back to our accommodation and I insisted on going for a walk through the park... he was happy to join me. Immediately we were impressed with the show that nature put on for us with the light across the water.

Everything about this park sings ... it has well maintained lawns and paths... with a boardwalk next to the river. Toilet facilities and BBQ facilities... Fitness equipment and a playground... views of the river. Landscaped lawns and established trees. The blending of nature with the city scape is thoughtfully done.

A nice place to walk, If you are living in Albury or you are here passing by, this place it is a good spot to spend some time.

You will enjoy the walk as well the different kind of animals that you would be able to see (up to the season) such as Pelicans, turtles along different kind of birds. If you are lucky you may see the platypus.

The walk or cycle along the riverbank is so gorgeous you run the risk of getting sucked into the bush and never returning. I just couldn't turn back because I didn't want to miss what was around the next bend. Gorgeous sandy riverbanks, wetlands, birds, birds, birds, and an utterly stunning sunny winter's day. I love the Murray! Who knew?

Dave's knowledge of kayaking/canoeing locally, as well as the Upper Murray and Mitta Rivers has made organising a yearly canoe weekend for Border Bushwalking club, very easy.
