- William W18 contributionsMy recent morning trip with Queenstown Fishing was beyond expectations. The stunning views of Queenstown's waters at sunrise were breathtaking, with the tranquil lake reflecting the vibrant colors of the sky.
Our guide, Simon, was fantastic. His deep local knowledge and passion for fishing came through in every story and tip he shared. He made the trip both informative and enjoyable, providing fascinating insights into the area's history and aquatic life. He also managed to find us some great spots out of the rain!
A standout moment was learning how to properly gut a salmon. Simon's clear, step-by-step instructions made the process approachable and educational. It was a hands-on experience that added a unique touch to the trip.
Overall, this excursion was a perfect blend of natural beauty, expert guidance, and practical learning. We caught a fair few in the end, and we don't have salmon where we live so that was a highlight.
Good laughs, beautiful scenery - hard to complain.

This guy knows his stuff and is so passionate about the area and has exceptional fishing gear and skills. We initially were confused as there is another charter called Queenstown Fishing charters but after asking the locals Simon was the most highly recommended- so rapted we did as we had a great day out - other half totally absorbing all the softbait fly fishing tips as never lake fished for trout in this way before. Keep up the great work Simon you are an asset to the area - just look for the cool Queenstown Fishing logo on his boat -then you know you’ve got the right man . Look forward to another adventure sometime in the near future- thanks heaps. We were lucky enough to have the boat all for the two of us and Mike was very patient especially with my 10 year old daughter, who was on her first ever fishing adventure. Thanks to Mike’s expertise we caught a salmon and a trout, and was lots of fun! Sheree was brilliant, very patient, helpful, fun and informative. Highly recommend to everyone!
