What travellers are saying
- Neil BAuckland, New Zealand1,033 contributionsGood hike to combine with a trip to Cape Palliser lighthouse. About a 1.5 hour return trip from the car park to the Pinnacles. Amazing rock formations; you can see why it was selected for a LOTR filming location. You can either walk straight up the stream bed and back (many small stream crossings) or do one way via the stream bed and the other way via the Pinnacles Track to take in the lookout.
Sturdy footwear required. There are toilets at the car park.Written 21 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - 983jeuWellington, New Zealand21 contributionsThe walk was long, but it was definitely worth it. The seals and rock formations were spectacular. We had a great time and will come again.Written 23 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sivasankar SivapragasamPetaling Jaya, Malaysia62 contributionsSomes Island is a beautiful place to visit. It was educational and knowledgeable about the history of the place. Moreover, thanks to the Department of Conservation for maintaining the island. It is one of a kind.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- carol jPalmerston North, New Zealand1,717 contributionsHow many cities in the world can say they have 100 hectares of native forest and this is the only public botanic garden in NZ dedicated to native plants.
Easy wheelchair access for some of the walks and there are at least six treks.
We did the red trek which is mainly steps and in some places steep which takes you to a waterfall .
There is a picnic domain with bbq and a stream with eels, great for family picnics or children birthdays.
There is a toilet in the domain area.Written 4 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Cathy TWainuiomata, New Zealand61 contributionsWhat a lovely spot. Couldn't get over the colour of the sea!! A great place to have a picnic and relaxWritten 5 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- HKS1 contributionExcellent tour. Very informative. Heather was a fantastic guide and very kind in the squeezing my mother and I in at the last moment. Absolutely stunning building and garden and so accessible both in price and parking (free). Every Kiwi should do this tour and learn something new about the history of their country. I did not know the Bledisloes bought and gifted Waitangi grounds to New Zealand after Government refused to. A precedent for future irreconcilable land disputes perhaps?Written 27 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dale KSydney, Australia56 contributionsThis is a small museum locate at the entrance to the Reserve Bank building. Entry is free and there is a good display of the history of currency. They even give you a bag of $1300 though it is shredded. A good experience and worth a visit.Written 16 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jamuel EWellington, New Zealand218 contributionsThis an amazing hidden gem. And it shouldn’t be so hidden it feels tucked away in a corner. That would be my only downside.
This is not a very big flashy exhibit but rather it is more an important one for anyone to visit to learn about one of NZ’s most important events in its history hence the 5 star review. It’s amazing to have these documents in wellington to look at and they have done well to tell the story and history around it. Can’t wait to be back to spend more time here.Written 8 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Spr1 contributionI had an excellent meeting with Zamm. - Tayla Williams1 contributionI bought a honeysuckle perfume from Fragrifert and it smells delicious! The service was amazing- Francesco was so kind and helpful! The entire vibe of the store is so cool as well. Will be coming back to try another perfume when mine runs out!!Written 30 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nicole C1 contributionAn unique experience as we traveled in a 4WD going past wonderful scenery. Hillary was a fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly guide. There wasn't a great number of seals as we're told it's breeding season.Regardless, it's a wonderful experience if you want to see seals in their natural habitatWritten 4 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- chitakeNew Plymouth, New Zealand471 contributionsReally cool bar. Hard to find up
Up stairs never saw a sign. Small great bartenders selection atmosphere. Volume etc. great. Did not eat there but spent a couple of good hours. Excellent place to meet friendsWritten 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Kevin BNorwich, UK29 contributionsWe did an all day food and wine tour of the Martinborough region, including Greytown with Anne. It was brilliant. Collected promptly, visited some terrific wineries, best platter lunch we have had in a tour like this at Poppies Winery, very informative Olive Oil tasting at Olivo complete with a bottle to take away, visit to chocolate producer Schoc including some samples, and a cheese tasting at C’est Cheese. Lots of great information as well about Wellington and the region. We were really pleased to have done this tour and definitely recommend it highlyWritten 5 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
