A good day out if you’re staying in the Martinborough or Greytown areas. The lighthouse is about an hour’s drive away at the end of the road along the southeast Wairarapa coast. As you’d expect, the lighthouse is on a prominent point. It’s also at the top of a very steep flight of some 250 steps! Rugged and wild coastal scenery. Be ready for strong winds. There’s a toilet at the car park.

If you’re heading out to the Cape, it’s worth combining the outing with the 1.5 hour Pinnacles Track just a few kilometres down the road. Also consider stopping in at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel for lunch or refreshments.

Good hike to combine with a trip to Cape Palliser lighthouse. About a 1.5 hour return trip from the car park to the Pinnacles. Amazing rock formations; you can see why it was selected for a LOTR filming location. You can either walk straight up the stream bed and back (many small stream crossings) or do one way via the stream bed and the other way via the Pinnacles Track to take in the lookout.

Sturdy footwear required. There are toilets at the car park.

We hired two fantastic electric bikes that were so comfortable to ride. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company or their bikes.

We don't have any bikes so hire the bikes from the bike shed. The staffs are very helpful and professional! They recommended suitable bikes for us according to our physical condition and standard. Very professional! They also gave us hints about the weather. Thanks so much! The condition of the bikes are good, clean and new. We are very happy with everything, their service and the bike. There are repair kit in the bag at the back. It is really nice to have them although we didn't need it.
The ride was enjoyable. It wasn't too hard for us as beginners. The view was stunning too! highly recommend for family, couples and friends!

An unique experience as we traveled in a 4WD going past wonderful scenery. Hillary was a fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly guide. There wasn't a great number of seals as we're told it's breeding season.Regardless, it's a wonderful experience if you want to see seals in their natural habitat

Well worth it! Not scary. Alex was our Axepert and she did a wonderful job of getting the excitement and energy going! The games played are not all about skill which was good for beginners and experienced alike! just an all round awesome and easy experience! 11/10 would reccommend.

We did this as a cruise shore excursion - small group of 12. Nigel picked us up and drove out of Wellington, into the mountains. It was raining but that just made it more of an adventure. They outfit you with rain gear, boots, gloves and helmets, then a brief training session. Then they spend about 20 minutes in a practice area to make sure everyone knew what they were doing. They gave us the option of riding in a big 4 wheeler with Nigel driving, and after about 10 minutes on the quad, I chose riding with Nigel, which turned out to be awesome! I got the fun of flying around the mountains without having to worry about where I was going. Plus Nigel gave me lots of info on the area as we drove, so bonus tour guide! My husband had a blast on his quad bike, so a great time was had by all.

What can I say? Dive Wellington is located in front of a Marine Reserve adn 5 minutes boat ride to HMNZS Wellington (F69) Wreck. Communication was outstanding, gear rental was a breeze (they even assisted me to switch an incompatible hose on my own reg despite being very busy with all divers!! And appropriate gear for Wellington's climate - We didn't feel cold at all), and dive boat was well organized - all instructions were clear, boat anchored spot on, and skipper (Dave) was very patient!
And let's not forget, the wreck!! Diving HMNZS Wellington was an amazing experience... it is broken in 3 parts, which I found, makes it easier to explore, as we dived different parts in each dive. Very interesting and great growth, and some very inquisitive fish. Don't miss out, highly recommend 'Dive Wellington'!!

Megan was an AMAZING guide, she honestly made the experience!! We had a group of three couples and my friend and I, which I would’ve thought was a fair bit to juggle, but she was so good at making time for all of us - when someone was injured in the group she was fantastic at checking in on them, but also made time for the rest of us, sharing stories, asking questions about us, and of course putting us through the odd Dad joke, haha. The trip was made even more incredible when we saw dolphins - we were told this is incredibly rare, but even if you don’t experience that, the night trip is such a special experience - seeing the lights twinkle along the shore of the Hutt valley and the moon rising is absolutely breathtaking, and if you get Megan as a guide, you’ll know you’re in for a great time!

    2 Day Fallow Deer Hunt

What a great Boys weekend. we had a group of 5 with various experience levels with both hunting and rifles,

Matt and Jose where great teachers on the tricks of hunting fallow deer for those of us that where first timers. Must admit they both have the patients of saints with the two younger members and eyes like hawks to spot them at times.

Great atmosphere and enough food to feed an army. If your looking for a boys or family weekend i would recommend this trip to anyone.

we all came away with having had an awesome weekend, a good sized deer and some great memories. Look forward to doing it again in the summer.
