Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wellington is an easy city to walk around. We had lovely weather, not windy as we expected. We wanted to see seals so went to the information centre and booked the Seal Coast Safari-Exclusive access to Wellington’s secret coast. Very comfortable minivan and Greg, our guide/driver was very informative and a genuinely nice guy. A lot of the drive was high in the clouds but as we came down to the beach it all became clear. Stunning coastline with seals draped over the rocks and looking out to an old lighthouse. Worth the money. Great to be on a tour with very little people.

Kelvin, our driver was marvelous, he knew of our ship's 1 hour earlier departure even before he arrived. Family/friend trip for 8 and our mobility impaired folks were well accommodated by him. Fantastic sights, awesome commentary, great suggestions to tailor the trip to what we wanted to see/do . I highly recommend this company...and an extemely delicious lunch was provided! Fantastic time had by all!

We enjoyed this tour with another couple (very nice Aussie's) guided by Andrew. This trip was way more than expected. Andrew stopped at several Lord of The Rings filming sites including Helm's Deep (a quarry) and provided a LTR tour book to review. We made several scenic overlook stops. Andrew was able to add historical personal references from family history of ANZACs and had a notebook of copies of newspaper clippings relevant to the story. Then we visited three outstanding wineries and ate at Poppie's with a fine charcuterie board including pork belly and our favorite wine choice. We stopped to enjoy a coffee at a local coffee shop and then ventured into an award winning chocolatier that offered samples. The chocolate lemongrass was our favorite. Then on our way back Andrew offered to drive us into Wellington for a quick view of the city and then back to the cruise ship on time. This was a wonderful tour and highly recommended. Kudos to Andrew.

Our private tour with Kaewa Tours from Wellington to Martinborough was truly unforgettable!

The real highlight, though, was Tom himself. There are tour guides and tour operators, and then there’s Tom and Kaewa Tours. Tom feels more like a friend showing his visiting relatives around his hometown than a traditional tour guide. His humor, knowledge, and dedication to making every tour memorable are why I couldn’t recommend Kaewa Tours highly enough!

Earlier this year my wife and I went on this wine tour. Absolutely marvellous! Tom was the perfect host, picking us up from our hotel In Wellington and looking after us superbly throughout the day. We were in New Zealand - visiting from the UK - for several weeks and there were lots of highlights but the Martinborough Wine Tour was right up there - a truly memorable day!

We started the tour at C’est Cheese in Featherston and then on to the Le Gra Vineyard in Masterton - run by Brian and his lovely family - excellent wine and excellent food! After this we went to Greytown Honey - wonderful tasty honey and we couldn’t resist buying some. Then on to Poppies Vineyard in Martinborough - a different experience and some lovely wines. We went back to Wellington via Kaitoke Regional Park where the Rivendell scenes from the Lord of the Rings films were shot. Stunning!

We had a wonderful day that we will never forget. If you are planning to be in the Wellington area for any time at all we strongly recommend that you contact Tom at Kaewa Tours for a memorable experience.

Kaewa Tours exceeded all expectations and was one of the best tours we’ve ever experienced around the world. Tom & Jill reached out soon after our booking with a warm email greeting and offer to zoom with us to personalize our trip. We appreciated their genuine authenticity, kindness and professionalism. Tom made some great suggestions for our drive from Christchurch to Picton. They met us at the Wellington ferry and escorted us to drop off our rental car and take us to our hotel. The following morning Tom shared his love and knowledge in a full-day of fun, fantastic sights, good food, conversation & thoroughly experiencing Wellington. Going above and beyond, Tom took us to Te Papa and checked us in for our flight home. Tom genuinely cared about our enjoyment and experience. It is exceedingly rare to achieve the quality of relationship as quickly as we did, and we parted as friends. We highly recommend Kaewa Tours.

A great day out viewing the kapiti coast, very relaxing and informative. Stopping at the car museum, chocolate shop, a wonderful lunch at a Cafe, watched and fed the eels and a stop at a local brewery for some beer tasting. Thank you we all enjoyed our day

The drive from Wellington to the wineries was stunning. Tom was knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and laid back. We enjoyed all of the wines we tasted and bought a bottle at each stop. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience greater Wellington wine country!

We had an awesome day out, great food, great coffee and great gin. Pickup and drop off from our Hotel in Wellington. Tom was an informative host with good information, a thoroughly enjoyable day. It's the second tour we have undertaken with Tom and would be happy to recommend it.

We had the best time traveling around with Tom. First and foremost his driving was impeccable on the windy streets of Wellington! We could not have done that kind of driving ourselves. Everyone we met at each of the establishments were fond of Tom and therefore fond of us. That made a huge difference than if we had done this on our own. We love food tours and they are the best ways to get to know a city. This tour with Tom goes down as one of the best!

Wonderful day. Great introduction to the Kapiti coast. Tom was great at tailoring my day to include my interests. I had a great time and felt comfortable traveling with him as a female solo traveler.

The tour vehicle arrived punctually at the hotel, and that was the beginning of a brilliant day. The tour vehicle was comfortable and clean, and the actual attractions were terrific. Then we made our way up to the coast and the birds, and it was a good day for travelling, with no so much wind.

    Cheers to Lucian

My wife and I did the full day craft beer tour with John and had the best day of our trip. John picked us up from the hotel and we headed north out of Wellington to see some sights before hitting Boneface Brewery at Brewtown for our first tasting of the exceptional craft beer scene in Wellington. Lunch at Panhead and then onto Parrot Dog and finishing up at Garage Project. On the journey John's knowledge of the local area is fantastic and he showed us sights we would never have found on our own. This "at your own pace" tour was an absolute must for the craft beer lover. Thanks John!
