Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kelvin, our driver was marvelous, he knew of our ship's 1 hour earlier departure even before he arrived. Family/friend trip for 8 and our mobility impaired folks were well accommodated by him. Fantastic sights, awesome commentary, great suggestions to tailor the trip to what we wanted to see/do . I highly recommend this company...and an extemely delicious lunch was provided! Fantastic time had by all!

We enjoyed this tour with another couple (very nice Aussie's) guided by Andrew. This trip was way more than expected. Andrew stopped at several Lord of The Rings filming sites including Helm's Deep (a quarry) and provided a LTR tour book to review. We made several scenic overlook stops. Andrew was able to add historical personal references from family history of ANZACs and had a notebook of copies of newspaper clippings relevant to the story. Then we visited three outstanding wineries and ate at Poppie's with a fine charcuterie board including pork belly and our favorite wine choice. We stopped to enjoy a coffee at a local coffee shop and then ventured into an award winning chocolatier that offered samples. The chocolate lemongrass was our favorite. Then on our way back Andrew offered to drive us into Wellington for a quick view of the city and then back to the cruise ship on time. This was a wonderful tour and highly recommended. Kudos to Andrew.

The tour was worth it, the guide and shuttle driver was really good and knew his history and information about the area. TripAdvisor was about half the price as it would have cost to go through the cruise event. He got us back to the ship in plenty of time. Thanks

I loved seeing all the animals and I loved how they had paths that were for younger kids and wheelchair accessible and a hiking path and a path for general people who just want to see the animals!

What a great, educational experience! When learning about NZ wildlife, this is a great experience to get up close and learn from the great tour guides! We did the night time tour and although we weren't able to 'see' everything that you see during the day, it was interesting as we got to see the kiwi bird several times in their natural habitat, which is the whole reason we did this tour. The tour guide was great - she kept us informed throughout the tour and educated us on the NZ wildlife. Great family or couple experience.

Wellington was a great city to visit. Although the weather was not very favorable that day, but our tour guide Tom from Kaewa Tours made it very special. He was very accommodating, gracious, friendly and informative. We had a bunch of awesome pictures which he took by himself and compiled for us. He accommodated our request to change the itinerary for that day due to heavy rains, and he made it possible and made sure that we enjoyed.
If you happen to visit Wellington, I strongly recommend Kaewa Tours to handle your tour and prepare the itinerary for you.

We viewed Te Papa and the QT Hotel and marvelled how the QT Hotel was moved on rails to make way for Te Papa to be built.
Waterfront walk where we put ourselves for "I" in the WELL_NGTON sign, viewed the city from virtual sculpture – now you have Halos!
Lambton Quay: On the left-hand side of the Quay was the original shoreline in January 1855. An 8.2 earthquake resulted in the land being uplifted.
Parliament Buildings and Grounds: We viewed the iconic ‘Beehive’, Houses of Parliament and the Parliamentary Library building.
Old St Pauls where Paddy took us on a guided tour through Wellington’s first Anglican Cathedral which was built in 1866. Here the American and Marine Corp flags have proudly hung since World War 2.
We drove past the official Prime Ministers residence on Tinakori Road, Thorndon – Premier House.
We drove down Bolton Street where the motorway went through the original settlers cemetery - Bolton Cemetery requiring the relocation of over 3,000 graves.
We attempted to visit Space Place adjacent to the Cable Car but unfortunately it was closed for maintenance.
We visited national museum, Te Papa.

We had the best time traveling around with Tom. First and foremost his driving was impeccable on the windy streets of Wellington! We could not have done that kind of driving ourselves. Everyone we met at each of the establishments were fond of Tom and therefore fond of us. That made a huge difference than if we had done this on our own. We love food tours and they are the best ways to get to know a city. This tour with Tom goes down as one of the best!

Earlier this year my wife and I went on this wine tour. Absolutely marvellous! Tom was the perfect host, picking us up from our hotel In Wellington and looking after us superbly throughout the day. We were in New Zealand - visiting from the UK - for several weeks and there were lots of highlights but the Martinborough Wine Tour was right up there - a truly memorable day!

We started the tour at C’est Cheese in Featherston and then on to the Le Gra Vineyard in Masterton - run by Brian and his lovely family - excellent wine and excellent food! After this we went to Greytown Honey - wonderful tasty honey and we couldn’t resist buying some. Then on to Poppies Vineyard in Martinborough - a different experience and some lovely wines. We went back to Wellington via Kaitoke Regional Park where the Rivendell scenes from the Lord of the Rings films were shot. Stunning!

We had a wonderful day that we will never forget. If you are planning to be in the Wellington area for any time at all we strongly recommend that you contact Tom at Kaewa Tours for a memorable experience.

Truly a highlight of our trip! Two guides and the two of us walking Zealandia for 2.5 hours. What a tremendous undertaking Zealandia is, and what a success it seems to be. Starting at dusk, we first got to witness the birds, many of which were endangered, coming back to the preserve to roost. Nico led the way, accompanied by Ruth, and identified species by appearance, flight patterns and call. At dark the adventure truly started. Aided by infrared lighting Nico showed us birds, lizards, insects and, best of all, 5(!) separate kiwi sightings! We can’t recommend this highly enough and the private tour added to the experience.

An amazing trip, Tom is so knowledgeable about everything in Wellington and showed us loads of things before we even left the city.

It’s a stunningly beautiful drive out of the city and a poignant stop at a WWI site before dropping into the winelands.

Our first stop was probably our highlight as we stopped off at Le Gra. A small place run by a family and in a quiet side road……….heaven. The staff were amazing and after a few pictures we were told about the wines by Brian. We then had a very tasty lunch and a look around the vines. Would highly recommend this place.

Our next winery was Johner Estate, proper in the sticks, but so nice. Great tastings from the really knowledgeable young lady. I was talking proper BS now so was loving it.

Our last stop was in Martinborough, a place called Poppies, we had a few photos in the vines before sampling a few of the liquid goods. Again, the staff are so knowledgeable, they seem to know a lot more than me and I have been tasting wine for a lot longer than them.

We then headed back to Wellington. What an experience which was for my 40th birthday and worth every penny. Tom is a very easy guy to talk to and knows answers to pretty much anything you ask him.

What a stunning tour, would highly recommend to anyone want to see the winelands of Wairarapa.

A great day out viewing the kapiti coast, very relaxing and informative. Stopping at the car museum, chocolate shop, a wonderful lunch at a Cafe, watched and fed the eels and a stop at a local brewery for some beer tasting. Thank you we all enjoyed our day
