Awesome place for whole family. We saw the Rita Angus show and that was fantastic along with natural NZ exhibits. Ever seen a Moa skeleton? Very cool.

Not the first time I'd been into this museum, but as always, it was a great place to wander around. I love the ambience of Wellington Museum, including the building itself. This visit, there were some rooms open that I didn't notice previously (Wellington Harbour Board old board rooms), which added some new intrigue. Overall, it really is a great museum and I really do recommend it for anyone when in the waterfront area.

for ages I have seen this war memorial either on tv or in pictures and have always wanted to go and visit, personally I quite like seeing all the different war memorials there are around, so I made sure I had the time to be able to come and see this memorial when I had visited Wellington, I would have gone along to the Dawn service there also, maybe next time when I go back. Once again a pretty amazing Memorial

This is an interesting small museum at the top of the cable car. It is free entry. There are lots of interesting old photos and some short films to watch as well. Also a souvenir shop if you are looking for some shopping. It was extremely quiet when we were there on a Sunday in May. Great views from the top of the cable car.

Excellent- house garden, information and even the Dolls House “I seen the lamp”! The home has been beautifully restored.

While somewhat out of the way, the good little museum is well worth a look. It covers the early colonial history and latter industrial history of the Hutt valley, and has wonderful exhibitions.

It was the first time entering since last year. I managed to see the current bi-exhibitions this month. It was amazing with integrating Maori customs and Photography together. Thus, there is psychology involved with tactile art. Moreover, the energy was intense and touch me emotionally. There is an old saying 'picture tells a thousand words.'

We managed to go on the second to last day of this amazing exhibition. The Quinns Post Experience was fantastic. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and passionate, and transported you back in time as she explained the history. A shame this exhibition was closing as I know of several people who would love to have gone to it.

Fascinating slice of history shown int his cottage that was owned and lived in by three generations of one family who built it in the mid-1800s. I highly recommend the guided tour with the very informative and interesting guide (my group had Emma). Don't miss the rooms upstairs or the scullery and outhoue and the garden with the chooks (hens).

We popped in on our way to another gallery, this wasn’t the main reason for being in the city.

We love and collect art so we did enjoy the visit, wasn’t too much to look at but if you read everything word for word maybe you would spend 30 minutes here.

I see the exhibitions do change every few months so you may see different artists depending on when you go.

If you are there and love art, pop in. The building that houses the gallery is art in itself.

We had an amazing time there! This is a fan museum made by a fan for fans. You start with a little video about their journey through LOTR and then you get to dress your favourite character’s clothes. Kathy’s enthusiasm is contagious and even those who don’t care about LOTR will have an amazing experience.

This is a small museum locate at the entrance to the Reserve Bank building. Entry is free and there is a good display of the history of currency. They even give you a bag of $1300 though it is shredded. A good experience and worth a visit.

When we were there the gallery was devoted to works competing for an up and coming prize. As always with modern art, there will be some you like and some you don't. The best ones for me were actually amongst the kids exhibition. Eva and Rosa's Peace Pizza was as good as any of the competition works.
Free entry - why not take a look?

Called to have a look through the Art Museum. Very friendly and helpful people there and the premises are excellent. The art on display, apart from a few pieces, were not to my taste - but this type of museum is definitely one for the aficionado rather than a peasant like me! I can appreciate the care and skill in each piece, but as art it just didn't meet my style - others in our party were more impressed - so guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. However, the premises are inviting, very well laid out, and the people are excellent - I'd recommend
