A great attraction for Wellington. I recall the old cable car prior to the late 70's and remember the kerfuffle losing the old cars with the external seating. Whilst the romanticism has been lost the new ones are certainly more practical.
We enjoyed the ride and also the small museum at the top.

Highly recommend this tour if you visit Wellington. Took our 2 young kids (7 & 10 year old) who throughly enjoyed it.
Rob our tour guide was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond including playing and singing happy birthday to our son.
Enjoyed visiting all of the key rooms including the debating room, the press room where they hold the daily covid press conferences and the great hall.
We weren’t expecting to enjoy it as much as we did with my partner saying it had been a real highlight.
No photos are allowed to be taken during the tour but we quite liked that.
Definitely a must do in Wellington!

I did run out of time to view the inside of this church but loved the outside all the same, next time I return to Wellington I plan to visit again and take a look around the inside :)

A good day out if you’re staying in the Martinborough or Greytown areas. The lighthouse is about an hour’s drive away at the end of the road along the southeast Wairarapa coast. As you’d expect, the lighthouse is on a prominent point. It’s also at the top of a very steep flight of some 250 steps! Rugged and wild coastal scenery. Be ready for strong winds. There’s a toilet at the car park.

If you’re heading out to the Cape, it’s worth combining the outing with the 1.5 hour Pinnacles Track just a few kilometres down the road. Also consider stopping in at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel for lunch or refreshments.

Enjoyed trolling through this street mall as lots of shops, eating places, cafes and street performers abound. Look for bargains along the way or just sip coffee at one of the cafes to watch the world go by. Colourful and funky precinct. Would recommend checking it out during the day time but be careful as it starts to get dark. Sometimes some dodgy characters abound.

for ages I have seen this war memorial either on tv or in pictures and have always wanted to go and visit, personally I quite like seeing all the different war memorials there are around, so I made sure I had the time to be able to come and see this memorial when I had visited Wellington, I would have gone along to the Dawn service there also, maybe next time when I go back. Once again a pretty amazing Memorial

We wandered all over the CBD multiple times over the two days we were there and always ended up back at the water front...magical place and well designed with plenty to look at along the way

Excellent tour. Very informative. Heather was a fantastic guide and very kind in the squeezing my mother and I in at the last moment. Absolutely stunning building and garden and so accessible both in price and parking (free). Every Kiwi should do this tour and learn something new about the history of their country. I did not know the Bledisloes bought and gifted Waitangi grounds to New Zealand after Government refused to. A precedent for future irreconcilable land disputes perhaps?

I feel there was a spiritual connection between me and the waterfront. It was the first time I did my photography assignment. Thus, it made me feel calm, serene and tranquil at the same time. It might be divine guidance calling out to me.

Stayed across the road from this cemetery, which is the oldest in Wellington dating back to 1840. Originally a site for Maori burials, until European burials began from 1841.
This unusual cemetery straddles the motorway, but offers a peaceful sanctuary for those visiting and those in their final resting place.
Iron memorials, wooden tablets are examples of headstones which are comparatively rare in New Zealand.
Also located on this site is the Bolton St Memorial Chapel which is filled with the history of the graveyard. The Sexton college is thought to be the oldest house in Wellington City.
This cemetery is inviting, attractive and interesting well worth a visit.
