- Rhondalyn22Matamata, New Zealand40 contributionsThis is a good workout to walk to the top. We went with our grandchildren in pushchairs. It was steep but do able. Almost harder going back down as the pushchairs tended to run away with you. But worth doing as it is an impressive crater that you can walk the entire way around, either on the footpath or on the raised boardwalk. There are some stairs to navigate if you go all the way around rather than just following the footpath by the roadside.Written 21 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Linda Wesch-Hogg9 contributionsvery quick trip from Auckland on the ferry
lovely to wander up the main street and peruse the shops
Lovely lunch at the cafe on the wharf on the way backWritten 19 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - hanniepexAuckland, New Zealand476 contributionsThis hill is a must for First timers in Auckland. Being one of the highest point, this lookout offers 360 degree views of entire Auckland.
There are plenty of parking on the hill. The one nearest the peak is about 10 minutes walk.
The hill has beautiful park and trees all over. You can have a stroll, bring a picnic mat and sit under tree and enjoy a book or just merely relax and feel the nature. You can bring a bike or scooter as well.
Have a drinking bottle handy so you can relenosh your water on nearby drinking fountains too.Written 25 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand18,098 contributionsThis is such a great park just on the outskirts of the city. There is plenty of grassy areas to walk and run around in. There is also a kids playground by the observatory. You have to walk up to the summit but there is parking close to it.
There are also a lot of other things to see around the park such as the rotunda or the myriad of trees lining the paths. There is also a cafe if you were getting pecking or want an indoor rest. There isn't a way to drive from the main entrance on Greenlane West to the playground area so you'd have to get out of the park and get in the other entrance.
It is a nice place to spend a few hours or so just being outside.Written 3 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SilicoJackWellington, New Zealand430 contributionsI really enjoy walking around the harbour whenever I come to visit Auckland. It occupies a premium location overlooking the Hauraki Gulf. The staff are very helpful and professional in looking after one's requirements. Our food was fresh and delicious and they make a very good coffee. We avoided sitting inside as the noise of patrons conversations were rather loud. Outside was ideal to get away from the din plus you got an uninterrupted sea view. Highly recommended.Written 20 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ayush45Panipat, India287 contributionsIt is one of the lighthouses in NZ where you can go inside and to the top of the lighthouse. The views are totally worth it. The road to the lighthouse is not good and full of bumps and stones. Drive carefully. Ample parking though. From parking, it is just 10 minutes walk to the lighthouse and you also get a chance to go to the signal platform. Pack your lunch or snacks and have fun. The gate to the lighthouse close at 5 PM.Written 3 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ogerkanNew York City, NY4,319 contributionsGreat neighborhood with many shops, bars & restaurants. Shops range from vintage to designer with all types of dining options on offer. Love the Gallery with the guy who made the spaceship art. If they did not weigh 20 lbs each, probably would have brought one back to NYC.Written 22 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Vicky SilveAbbadia Lariana, Italy519 contributionsI admit that the name “Albert Park” always makes me smile, as it recalls me the more famous Albert Park of Melbourne, the venue of the Formula One Australian Grand Prix. Well, the New Zealander one is completely different, small and full of colourful flowers.Written 21 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand18,098 contributionsWe stopped by Bethells on the way back from the Te Henga walk to O'Neill Bay. We went through the path that connects O'Neill Bay to Bethells Beach. It was interesting that there looked like there was a house on the Island at Bethells.
We rested here a bit by the cliff close to the island. There wasn't much shade on the beach though so it would be wise to bring something if you were planning on staying a while.
The beach itself was quite nice and large and there were lifeguards on duty. You do need to cross some water to get to the island side of Bethells but it wasn't very deep. The water was also quite warm, compared to the sea. The caves around the cliff by the river was quite interesting, some were big enough to easily walk in.
The sand did get quite hot, particularly away from the beach so just be wary of that as you head in/out.Written 12 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Bernadine PWallan, Australia5 contributionsHuge variety of shops and food court has a great selection of different food you can indulge in. Car parking is a mission though; think it is due to some construction work around Level 1 carpark. The introduction of KMart to the center has been a hit with it opening 24hours I think. The train station as well that is a bonus; you can catch a train from Britomart all the way to Manukau; train station is right there at the centre. Great locationWritten 11 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
