- ceccoshanidubai57 contributionsGreat tour organized by John, who was very knowledgeable and did his best to ensure we were enjoying ourselves! John took us around to discover the outskirts of Auckland on our way to the vineyards and filled us in on so many details regarding not only New Zealand’s wine production but also the city’s history. We particularly enjoyed the black sandy beach visit which was beautiful even considering the strong wind and cold. Once the tour was over, John was so kind to take us back to our hotels without even having to walk back..much appreciated John!
Very nice tour if you are looking for a good wine tasting experience with a small group (we happened to only 5 people). Even when it was pouring rain, the hosts were helpful and we got to bottle feed baby sheep. Be sure and ask about the Huntaway dog!! I had never heard of such and he is really cute. Lunch was good, even vegetarian options for my granddaughter. Small but nice gift shop with quality items...I have a very cute winter hat with a sheep on it from there and my granddaughter bought family gifts. The lunch at Soljans was delicious. He provided a nice bag of snacks for us as he gave us a comprehensive tour of Auckland and all of its sites. The wine tours were great with excellent wine. Our driver Karthik gave great explanations along the way.
The drive was very comfortable in a Mercedes van. First stop was the Manuka honey farm. Very interesting, we learned a lot and saw the bees at work..
I enjoyed one of the best ice creams, made with honey..delicious!
We experienced a lot of honey based products such as eye cream or soap.
Unfortunately we can't take honey home..so delicious.
Chocolate tasting was next..super quality. Swiss like .The highlight was wine tasting and lunch at glasshouse winery.
A must for food and wine lovers.
And the Art trail is something you will never forget...and a good workout after the great lunch.we spent a good 2 hours there..great scenery also for photo taking.
As an ice cream lover I was in for a special treat on the way back..
You won't miss it..artisan ice cream at it's best..ask Karthik to take you there..

While the tours are a “guide” of your time - your host will get to know you and recommend options and ideas such as a beach lunch from fresh farmers market buys. If you have the chance to book Hazel, do it!!!! She is amazing. We spent three days with Hazel all better than the next. Enjoy!
