Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- BradHong Kong, China174,748 contributionsKing's Park & Botanical Gardened was officially opened to the public in 1895 and is today a 400 hectare public park and Green Lung in the heart of Perth. The park is considered on of the largest inner city parks in the world and offers a variety of of ecological areas with trails, natural bushland, grassy fields with family-friendly activity areas as well as a world-class botanical garden with a wide range of plant and tree species on display.
The Park butts up against the Swan River and has elevated positions with very nice views of the city, there are monuments scattered throughout and a couple nice restaurants, kiosks for food & drink and art gallery shop near the Botanical Garden. There is free 2-hour parking in various locations around Kings Park as well as public and Blue Cat bus stops in the park for those wanting to use public transportation.
We very much enjoyed having breakfast at Zumia Cafe in Kings Park and proceeding to make way over the the Botanical Garden area of the Park where we spent another 2 hours wandering the area grounds. Would have enjoyed trying a trail or two if time had allowed. Look forward to exploring more of Kings Park when next in Perth.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The winning students loved it and it was very much appreciated. Thankyou.Written 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew YSingapore, Singapore5,059 contributionsThe Swan river gives a beautiful view of the city. It can't be missed if you are in Perth. Cruise boats leave from the jetties regularly. It is encircled by land.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia29,074 contributionsThe Bell Tower is striking in design and prominent next to the Swan River and houses twelve bells St Martins in The Fields and designed to commemorate Australia's Bicentenary in 1988. Two other bells came from London and three donated by a mining consortium. Enjoy the interesting architecture.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Andrew YSingapore, Singapore5,059 contributionsIt is a nice peaceful park off the highway. You can try to look for kangaroos but you may not find any. You will see ducks. Nice to walk around the island as it is surrounded by beautiful water.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rochelle FRandolph, NJ1,140 contributionsWhile staying in Perth, it is nice to walk around the Harbour. There are lots of restaurants, and activity here (vs CBD at night which is so quiet). You can catch a boat ride down the Swan River, sit and people watch or walk over the bridge, which is lit at night.Written 6 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China174,748 contributionsThis is a beautifully arranged memorial centred around a 18 metre tall Cenotaph located along the Ceremonial Walk near the the botanical gardens and eastern end of Kings Park, overlooking the river
The memorial was designed by Sir Talbot Hobbs and dedicated in 1929 in memory of Australian servicemen and women who perished during WWI. It now commemorates those fallen in later conflicts which involved Australians as well. What you will also see in addition to the original Cenotaph are the Court of Contemplation, Eternal Flame, Reflection Pool and ANZAC Bluff Plaque.
Well worth spending a few minutes to pay respects and admire the State War Memorial if planning to visit and spend time in this section of Kings Park.Written 13 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The bridge is located in the Botanical Garden section of Kings Park and is around 620 metres in length. In addition to nice views of the area trees in sections of the bridge, there are fine views of the Swan and Canning Rivers in the distance.
Well worth making the effort to find and walk the Lotterywest Federation Walkway if planning a bit of time in Kings Park during visits to Perth.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dee M55 contributionsIf you visit, make sure you catch the Sunset reflection on the back glass of the Shepherds Door. Another Masterpiece from the Creative talents of Antonio at the Battistessa Studio in the Swan Valley. Love the way that in June/July the actual sunset appears in the Sun and rays of the door.

- Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,538 contributionsThis theater has been a center of arts and culture in Perth since the reign of sovereigns in Western Australia. His Majesty's Theater is large and well-defined; the furnishings are luxurious and welcoming. It's a great venue for the performing arts, especially ballet and opera. His Majesty's has also featured many popular performances over the years. Locals commend the government of Sir Charles Court, who saved this local artistic treasure from demolition. Access is easy for audiences.Written 10 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
