Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my second visit and the last was 6 years ago. Much have changed and I just love the majestic trees on the road side welcoming visitors to the park. I walked from Mount St and enjoyed every bit of the walk towards the park. Spent some time at the war memorial and remembering those fallen comrades during the Great War. I strolled all through the park and since it was a weekday not much visitors in the morning. Had a wonderful time seating around and taking in the fresh crisp air from the winter breeze. It took me almost 4 hours on that leisure walk around the beautiful park.

The Swan river gives a beautiful view of the city. It can't be missed if you are in Perth. Cruise boats leave from the jetties regularly. It is encircled by land.

This is located at King's Park. You get a nice view of the city from the memorial. There is a gas flame lit. If you go below, you can see the names of the people who were killed in the war.

While staying in Perth, it is nice to walk around the Harbour. There are lots of restaurants, and activity here (vs CBD at night which is so quiet). You can catch a boat ride down the Swan River, sit and people watch or walk over the bridge, which is lit at night.

This is a worthwhile part of the Kings Park to visit. You get lovely views over the river and also of the surrounding gardens. It reminds me of a much smaller version of the Tahune Airwalk in Tasmania!

It is a nice peaceful park off the highway. You can try to look for kangaroos but you may not find any. You will see ducks. Nice to walk around the island as it is surrounded by beautiful water.

The original western half of the Cathedral was built from 1863 to 1865 in a Norman Gothic style with two porches and a spire being added in 1905 adding to its Gothic style. The Cathedral was enlarged during the period from 1926 to 1930 with the construction of the eastern half, however, due to financial restrictions resulting from the Great Depression, many of the original design features were not completed. The two halves had been joined during this time with the original Cathedral, less its sanctuary, being retained as the nave for the expanded Cathedral. It appears though that many thought the joining was not done well and that the Cathedral was incomplete.

The third construction phase from 2006 to 2009 resulted in major restructuring and restoration works being undertaken that included moving the Sanctuary to the centre of the Cathedral, building a new crypt, increased seating capacity, a choir room, an under croft car park and a second spire.

The result is quite lovely with lots of natural light flowing into the centre of the Cathedral and it having a very modern feel and look about it.

There are some beautiful paintings and stained glass windows.

Queen's Gardens is a much-loved grassy area that celebrates Perth's history as the capital of Western Australia. This year is the 125th anniversary of the official launch of the Queen's Gardens. The Queen's Gardens date from April 1898. The Queen's Gardens were officially launched by Alexander Forrest, then Lord Mayor of Perth, in 1899. The Queen's Gardens 125th anniversary is known as the quasquicentennial. The Queen's Gardens are located at the corner of Hay Street and Hale Street in Perth.

Considering that it is free and near the centre of town, it is a nice place to rest and hang out. There is another garden in from the Supreme Court. There isn't much shade to hide from the sun.

St Georges os a veatiful, stately cathedral elegant snd venerable among all the newer Perth buildings that surround it.
A short stroll from Central Perth and its along the main bus route leaving towards Adelaide Terrace. Well worth a stop.

This gallery is free to enter and is close to the Perth Railway station. It has some interesting pieces but the collection was more limited than I had imagined.

We loved central Perth and though shopping is way, way down our list of priorities when exploring a city, Hay Street was a very lively and bustling area and we enjoyed its verve and energy.
