Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spend 2 1/4 hours here and could have spent much more of not for having to catch a flight home.

Friendly and helpful guy in there as well.

My 12 year old didn’t want to leave, so you don’t just have to be a retro gamer to enjoy. Any video game fan will enjoy a visit to the this place.

    Totally recommend

The most unusual feature of this museum are the buildings, which are a striking assortment of old brick museums, jails and libraries confusingly interwoven with modern staircases and glass walkways. The result is a complex maze where it is almost impossible to locate every gallery. The visitor map provides limited assistance as there is no suggested route and at least one gallery (Treasures) has no obvious entrance at all. Staff are friendly and try hard to help with navigation. The exhibits when you find them are actually quite good and as varied as the buildings.

The recent opening of the Western Australian Museum Boola Bardip adds a new dimension to the Perth Cultural Cenre which had been sadly lacking while the previous WA Museum was being rebuilt. The area around James St was once run down, but it is now the cultural hub of Perth. The WA Art Gallery has a good collection, including local artists. The State Library of WA has an unmatched collection of WA publications, including the Battye Library, which concentrates on WA's local history. PICA -- the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts -- usually has something interesting on show, and the theatre centre showcases live performance. The Cultural Centre is connected to the Perth Railway Station by a convenient walkway. It's easy to spend a day checking out the Cultural Centre, there's something new every time I visit Perth.

We spent a couple of hours at the museum. There are a few options including a guided tour, audio tour (2 types) or do your own thing. We took the audio tour which was excellent, you could listen to all or part of the presentations. Such a variety of exhibits, natural history, local and social displays delivered in different platforms. At $15 this is great value

Took the kids here. The staff were so friendly. I sat in a beautifully restored 1962 EJ Holden and when you turn the ignition key the radio starts and transports you back in time. So cool 😍
