Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland11,334 contributionsWe loved central Perth and though shopping is way, way down our list of priorities when exploring a city, Hay Street was a very lively and bustling area and we enjoyed its verve and energy.Written 23 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DavielandAuckland, New Zealand1,035 contributionsNot that many shops that sparked my interest. The ones that did had some good prices. Much cheaper than in New Zealand. Mid week, the place was quiet.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mike MWorcester Park, UK102 contributionsThis designer retail shopping centeis grossly over hyped. I made a brief 2 hour visit & was overall disappointed. Nice luxury brand names. No coffee shops & the food outlets were really disappointing mainly due to te high rentals. Ask yourself why there's a mobile coffee wagon in the car park? Answer because the owner can't afford a unit inside as it's not profitable. The only place to buy a coffee is the Lindt chocolate shop where they also ha ve a bargwain deal of choc boxes for only $10 so bought 3! Alsobought a nice swearshirt from the Adidas shop. Not worth goinhg out of your way for though.Written 18 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dan LBunbury, Australia8,537 contributionsFew people in Forest Place when we visited on the 12th, even the tenancies that comprise Forest Chase were short on customers. After a quick lunch at the Coffee Club, we headed into Myer where I located a quiet corner to read the newspaper while my wife roamed the ladies' departments. Disappointed to note that Bocelli Espresso had been compelled to vacate their site of many years in Forest Place.Written 16 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - K'ren TanSingapore, Singapore378 contributionsThe typical shopping street in the City of Perth. Nothing much to ‘wow’ about. Retailers around include K-mart and Myer, and some cafes.Written 3 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jana CPrague, Czech Republic4,623 contributionsWe use it only as a shortcut between Hay and Murray streets. Lots of shops are shut and boarded, such a shame being a prime location in the city, but with all the homeless and crime, people tent to shop in suburban shopping centres.Written 4 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,537 contributionsCarpark was packed when we arrived, and it took some time to locate a parking space. Hardly an empty seat in the foodhall area and that allowed my wife to browse her favourite shops in comfort. I encountered my usual problems in the various male outlets, I had to be 2XL or smaller, didn't even find a 3XL on this visit.Written 6 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - philip02017Isle of Man, UK9 contributionsExcellent service and food - brilliant location run by a focused team. Highly recommended. Also great location for a stroll around the lake - good for families with good play areas.Written 14 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,537 contributionsIn contrast to other malls and arcades, Carillon City was busy, good numbers in the food court and the shops. Two of our favourite city shops are located here and few trips to Perth is undertaken without a visit. There is a good range of outlets; men's and ladies footwear, jewellers, beauty, etc. Bright and airy and a great location between the malls and adjacent Forrest Chase.Written 3 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,537 contributionsHeaded underground on this occasion to visit Jons Shoe Repair. Not sure what changes are underway in this section of the arcade with hoardings, a very restricted food court and limited pedestrian traffic in contrast to the upper levels. Back upstairs all outlet seemed busy, certainly many more people than below. Definitely worth visiting if in the area.Written 16 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MandyC3 contributionsStumbled across this gem on a recent visit to Perth. We were on the lookout for a present for friends back home and were delighted to find a huge collection of prints to choose from in this lovely gallery. The owner Steven was super helpful, spent a good while with us, guiding us to the perfect gift, all with a smile. Definitely pop in to have a browse, it's on the cutest street in Perth too in my opinion so well worth the visit!Written 1 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,595 contributionsHeathcote was once a psychiatric institution and some relics from the past remain. It now hosts artistic exhibitions. Heathcote has one of the best views over the Swan and Canning Rivers. It is a much-loved picnic spot. Try and get there early, parking is limitedWritten 26 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ms FMelbourne, Australia97 contributionsCity farm has really changed for the better since I last visited here in the early 2010s. A good use of space and it adds some greenery to concrete east Perth.
I really enjoyed my brief walk around city farm with a small child. I originally planned on visiting the cafe and doing a small walk around.
I also liked how accessible the toilets and paths were, although the toilets were a bit grubby and could do with proper soap and toilet paper.Written 5 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of little shops and cafes to explore before stepping back to reality and the modern world.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
