Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Dan LBunbury, Australia8,887 contributionsSpotted this unusual sculpture/monument as we passed in our bus. It took some research later, but I eventually discovered that it is called 'Fusion'. It is shaped like the hull of a pearl lugger, curved steel, wood salvaged from an old bridge and 200kgs of pearl shell by Nic and Alex MIckle and was dedicated in August 2021. Described as a connection of earth and sky with the symbol on top aligning perfectly twice yearly with the moon on the crest.Written 10 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ITRTVirginia45,433 contributionsDuring our half-day tour of Broome, we drove by the bronze statue of a female diver coming out of the water with a pearl shell in her hand. This statue commemorates the Aboriginal women who were forcibly kidnapped and made to dive for pearl shells without any breathing apparatus but also those who helped the pearl industry on shore. The site is for the monument is located along the shore where families awaited the return of the pearl luggers. It is said to represent an Aboriginal woman rising out of a wave with a pearl shell in her hand.Written 3 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,887 contributionsThe sculpture, by artist Nic Compton, was unveiled in 2019. It takes the form of an abacus, an appropriate tribute to the variety of shops and other outlets that comprised old Chinatown.Written 10 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
