The lovely Chinatown staff gave me directions. And it turned out we were staying next door and I hadn't noticed it. They were just starting a demo/tour and it was so informative and fun. The speaker gave us fun facts about the pearl industry and how pearls were rated. Then he opened a shell and explained about it. He passed around various shells and pearls for us to touch and examine. I wish it would have lasted even longer, as it was so interesting. The people were all so friendly. Today my husband dropped me off at her Gill St Gallery for my Artists Hour booking. I was thrilled with the experience and the unexpectedly excellent outcome of around 90 minutes with Suzi, and her thoughtfulness at taking these photos. There is so much variety here we walked around just picking up items we love to use in cooking and came away with much more than we thought we would. I had been looking for swimming shorts and top now for about 5 months and found just what I wanted here. We called this store and they sent a representative to take me to their store. The rep was very helpful and friendly. I looked at all the rest of their items and then decided to stroll around the city to other pearl shops before deciding on the first pendant I saw. After an hour wander, I was back to transact the deal. The pendant did not fit on to my omega necklace. Over-night their jeweler expanded the bail to fit my necklace. All for no extra cost and delivered to my hotel before my flight. Now, that it service. A good collection of books for adults as well as kids about Broome, the Kimberley region, Indigenous stories and art.
