Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Chander_62Cardiff, UK443 contributionsWe visited these gardens with family and grandchildren while traveling from Wales. We spent time in the children’s play area, which the little ones thoroughly enjoyed, and also took a walk around the park. The pathways were well signposted, with clear indications of how long it would take to reach various parts of the park. It was a delightful experience and definitely worth a visit!Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ingeborg56Oslo, Norway2,402 contributionsWe absolutely loved to take a tour of this old tram which took us on a free and great sightseeing trip in Melbourne centre, and I will strongly recommend it to everybody. It stops at NGV, Victoria Market, the Aquarium and lots of other places, and it tours until about 5 p.m.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Audrey C1 contributionQueen Victoria Market is such a lively and vibrant spot, full of local produce, artisanal goods, and tasty street food. The market itself has a great blend of history and modern vibes.Written 4 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MagMelbourne, Australia87 contributionsThe Skydeck offers nice views of the city, especially at sunset and at night. We had pre-booked our tickets and there was no line to go up.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ingeborg56Oslo, Norway2,402 contributionsWe only went to see the regular art collections, but we were very impressed by the collection of Australian art from A to Z. We watched the video about the Brown collection which was a story about an extraordinary man which has been so important for Australian art. We only spent a couple of hours there, but we could easily have spent the whole day there because we found it very interesting. It is also great that it is free entrance to the ordinary exhibitions of the NGV.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - R R KBengaluru, India151 contributionsWe were here for the 4th Day Test Match between Australia & India finals from Gate 3. This was my first visit to a cricket stadium after seeing Munich olympic stadium 40 years ago. Very impressive with very large seating capacity. That day, it was almost 47000 visitors packed. Enormous number of food and drink shops. Free health check points everywhere. Excellent connectivity by public transport by metro or trams. Nearest Metro being Richmond station. With Rod Laver Arena next door where Australian Open tournament due, very exciting cricket, day was well spent.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Caroline AKaukapakapa, New Zealand8 contributionsIt's a beautiful zoo, a great layout and is easy to navigate. It was HOT!! I appreciated the cool-down water misters! I suggest, if its going to be hot, go early and get out by midday, animals not interested in being out and about in it either.Written 17 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Wandering ReviewerMelbourne, Australia12,069 contributionsA must visit in Melbourne. If you can make a booking for the tea rooms that’s also essential. A tireless tradition for Melbourne visitors.
The architecture and decor still well appreciated by many and the building is heritage listed. Do look up and down. The mosaic tiles, the glass ceilings, the archways and painting. Stunning.
Plenty of cafes and stores to keep you busy for an hour.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly fly. Pram accessible. Toilets nearby.Written 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It offers a wealth of history alongside interactive, hands-on exhibits that are perfect for children. The museum features a couple of dining options with plenty of seating, making it easy to take breaks. With its vast displays and engaging activities, it’s a place where you could easily spend an entire day exploring.Written 14 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - M DSydney, Australia156 contributionsIt was expensive and most of the gaol site has been demolished, but it was well worth the visit, especially for people interested in Victorian history about NSW/Victoria and the criminal element during the gold rush period.
The gaol was well organised so even though there were a lot of people visiting, there was enough room to be on your own in rooms to imagine its previous atmosphere.Written 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChefCliveMLondon, UK2,458 contributionsWe visited St Patrick’s, as we have done on previous trips to Melbourne, to hear Mass for our belated friend Luca Fusi. I telephone and spoke to Father Michael and explained that it was at St Patrick’s that Luca heard Mass just before he died back in London. Father Michael was sympathetic and very understanding and indeed, Luca's name was read out. It was a very moving service, a sung mass, and will stay in our hearts forever. Thank you to Father Michael and the whole ministerial team for your love and understanding.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
