Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best market in Melbourne. I enjoyed buying good quality gifts, have lunch followed up with a coffee. It has a great vibe and super clean. The vendors are happy, helpful and friendly. I will visit again very soon.

Moomba happens every year around early March.

It begins on a Friday afternoon and progresses over the weekend and ends on the Monday which is usually a public holiday.

Every night at 9.30pm - 9.45pm there are fireworks than can be viewed along the Yarra River, near Birrarung Marr and the Melbourne Tennis Centre.

From Alexander Gardens end to Birrarung Marr you can find a range of rides, stages with music and food vendors. There are street performers and other stalls to capture your attention. You need to buy tickets for the rides and they are not the cheapest, especially if you are a family. The Friday night has a special ticket pass, which is better value.

There are other free events over the 4 days such as the Birdman Rally, a novel way to design a contraption that will possibly fly far over the Yarra River from a launching platform, that the public can enter and water skiing event and tricks.

The most popular part of Moomba is the Moomba Parade. It runs for about an hour on the Monday morning from 10.45am. It showcases the cultural diversity of Melbourne through music, dance and the Arts. There are dancers, acrobats, musicians, floats and of course the king and queen of Moomba which can be a celebrity or someone else chosen. This year we had 2 comedians / TV presenters / actors.

This is a great family event and they line the streets with blankets and snacks for the best view from as early as 9.30am. It usually starts at Birdwood Avenue, Kings Domain and then concludes along Linlithgow Avenue.

Parking is a hassle for the event as many of the parade members park in the main areas [understandably] and some are closed off. Your best bet would be to get public transport, walk or taxi it there.

    Don't miss it!

Challenging, but fun. Great way to spend an afternoon extending the old grey matter. Will definitely do another one when in town again.

Monet's Garden exhibition was part of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Winter Masterpieces exhibition in 2013. It has now moved on. The exhibition was very popular, giving an insight into how this great impressionist painter worked.

Great, fun adventure playground full of slides, castles, sandboxes, an in-ground trampoline, a basketball court, and assorted old (and sometimes broken) toys. Based on other reviews I was afraid it would be a little more dangerous (especially for really little ones), but it was not bad as long as you supervise. My children loved it, so we went multiple times (our lodging was nearby). Not worth a journey from far out, but definitely worth going to if you are nearby. Check their hours though, because it is not open often.

The building itself is magnificant, and is surrounded by buildings, commercial and housing, from the 1870s-1910s. Nearby is the Market, Clarendon Street shops, and the Library. There is also a War Memorial close by.

The iron house which was not open when we visited was an interesting pierce of history dating back to the Gold Rush days and great that they have been retained particularly with some of the magnificent old houses around..

Not an attraction that’s worth a visit on its own but well worth a look if at nearby bowls club or St Vincent Garden. Close to light rail tram stop

The playground was very busy this Sunday morning. Small children were running wild, with parents calm with the high fences keeping them from running on the road.

It was our first time to a Burlesque Club and the reviews of the Cabaret Club in South Melb seemed promising. We chose the Saturday night show as the most tame. It was hands down one of the funniest and most entertaining 3 hours of my life. WE booked without dinner but ended up ordering food which was fantastic, some strong Polish influences but a wide selection and very good. After some confusion about which door to use we found the "Man in Black" who directed us to our table for two just to the left of the small dais that is sued as a stage. The only bugbear all night, especially during intermission was that despite the venue not being full drinks took too long to reach the tables, no fault of the wit staff who were lovely and very much in keeping with the overall ambience of the venue; rather the prioritising abilities of he mixologist left a little to be desired as did his personality; its was table service only something I was pointedly reminded off when I tried to order from him. Still everybody else was utterly brilliant, the red haired vixen from Wicklow Town and the Man in Black who can sing Tom Waits so good I though he was miming for about an minute. His Johnny Cash is worth the trip but of course the show belongs to Mama and she is utterly brilliant, her comedic timing is as good as anything I have seen, her ability to work with the audience and the environment is seamless. Frankly she is brilliant. The content was a mix of tease and humour with a number of fantastically tongue in cheeky turns by various members of the ensemble. I have had my cherry popped and it felt good. This is a value for money experience and I loved it! I will be back and this time I feel like I will try the darker shows available and I might also dress differently, don't be afraid to show your inner kink.

I have visited Lemongrass Thai Massage in Prahran a few times. Lovely atmosphere and very clean. Welcoming staff who are very professional. I have had remedial and relaxation massages. Would highly recommend to anyone needing your aches massaged away or for pure relaxation.
