Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sandridge Beach is the last beach before you hit the Port of Melbourne, situated in Hobson's Bay [Port Phillip Bay]. New Beach is next door and after that Port Melbourne Beach, plus Princes and Station Piers respectively. Port Melbourne Beach was formerly labelled Sandridge Beach but changed its name. The name 'Sandridge' goes back to 1839 because this area used to be full of dunes/ridges.

The beach is in the form of a crescent, with a promenade along the length of it. There are plenty of places to sit, and trees protect the foreshore, so the wind factor is lessened. The water is relatively shallow, but there is much seaweed, and with the shipping channels nearby it would be a personal choice in regards to swimming here. The beaches here get cleaned regularly and surfaces trowled to clear any dangerous objects in the sand.

There is a kiosk connected to the newish Life-Saving Club, where you can buy snacks, get changed and there is a car park. There is parking along the road free or pay station - be sure to check the signs.

It is a safe and popular place for kayaking, bike riding and other exercises. Quite a few people go fishing off the stone piers/lookouts. These lookouts are a stand out of this beach and give excellent panoramic views of the area—worth a visit.

Recently spent 8 days doing a nature safari around the southern part of NSW and Victoria in Australia. Tour was led by Martin from Echidna Walkabout Nature Tours. It was terrific! Everything ran so smoothly, right from being picked up at our hotel in Melbourne to being dropped off at the local airport in Mildura on our way home. The wildlife viewing was sensational - we got amazing views of a wide array of animals, including kangaroos, emu, flying foxes, koala, wombat, lizards, snakes and a huge variety and number of birds. Martin is an indefatigable leader with an expansive knowledge of the flora, fauna and history of the area. He made every day fun and entertaining, and ensured everyone got plenty of chances for good views and photo opportunities. The hotels were all comfortable with private facilities, the food was plentiful and enjoyable, and the small group size (7 travellers plus the guide) worked perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend this company, and particularly Martin, to anyone considering a similar tour in this area.

Brett was super flexible was drop off and pick up times. Very professional service! The bikes themselves glide to 25km/h with minimal effort and were perfect for a full day of relaxed riding.

I purchased a ticket from the ticket merchant 2 hours before the start of the Australia Open Men’s Final, I paid $375 for s ticket face value $560 and the service and delivery was excellent. I was dubious when purchase but their system worked perfectly and the ticket arrived 30 mins before the game, perfect timing. I would recommend The Ticket Merchant to any person wanting a great deal when all other outlets are saying sold out”

The schooner Enterprize is Melbourne's tall ship. The Enterprize was instrumental in the settlement of Victoria. When John Batman arrived on the banks of the River Yarra, he famously said "This will be the place for a village." The "village" became the city of Melbourne, "Queen City of the South." John Pascoe Fawkner, a Launceston publican, bought the 50 ton schooner Enterprize to take his party to Port Phillip. Unfortunately, John Pascoe Fawkner missed the boat, although his party did sail. However, numerous Melbourne localities are named after the enterprising pioneer John Pascoe Fawkner

I got given an ElliptiGo Experience as a birthday present, and what a great present it was! Monika was very careful to ensure that I knew how to use the bike before setting out on a fantastic ride around the Bay. She is very friendly and pointed out lots of interesting sites along the way. The ElliptiGo bike is very different to a normal bike and certainly gives you a good work out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a different biking experience. Thanks Monika for a great day!

Good family fun! I was surprised they were petrol carts indoors but the ventilation was OK, could have been a bit better but we were only there for an hour or so. It’s a pretty decent track with 12 corners and lots of areas for overtaking. We would come again.
