- LizardqueeenElkhorn, WI6 contributionsOpportunity to get a perspective of Melbourne from the river. Interesting scenery. And glad we did the tour. Most of the narration is done via a recording and it’s rather impersonal though.
The dock is right downtown and easy to find. Check-in is somewhat chaotic. The boat doesn’t have a scanner to read your electronic ticket so you have to wait in line with others buying tickets and get a paper ticket.
Because some of the bridges are super low, the he boat ceiling is too. In addition, music was blaring at the back of the boat which was annoying, unnecessary and distorted the commentary. Pre- recorded commentary , free instant coffee and tea were provided onboard. The toilets were very tight for space. - ivy_05Melbourne, Australia60 contributionsWhat an amazing experience! We had booked a boat for 12 but only 6 people ended up coming which meant lots of space. We packed our own lunch and it was a blast, there was Bluetooth to play music. Husband said the self drive was quite easy and it's very slow so never felt like we were in danger. We would definitely do again. Finding the dock can be quite tricky but it's right between 2 restaurants so walk straight down. - Ruby A5 contributionsWe had 7 family plus 2 young children. They loved being in a boat. We just anchored at one spot, but it was lovely to enjoy the area from the water. The bbq was great. Took a while to get warmed up, but once it was, it cooked sausages and steak really well. Great service from the hirers.
