Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In Melbourne, everyone comes from somewhere else. Finding out about your origins is fascinating. The Immigration Museum was once the Customs House, and later the Commonwealth Parliament Office. Finding out about this Australian institution is fascinating..

The Old Treasury Building was built in 1869 to store the copious amounts of gold flowing from the Victorian goldfields. The Great Australian Gold Rush dated from 1851. Apart from the gold, it was also an office for the Victorian Treasury. These days, visitors can inspect the vaults; there are also a number of exhibitions, including the changing role of women and the evolution of work. Entry is free.

Really interesting museum covering the history of the Chinese in Australia.
Well laid out with permanent stuff, special exhibitions and a great gold mining experience in the basement!

Wonderful little museum, perfect when one have 2 hours to spare. Location is strategic and easily accessible. Entry fee of Aud 12/p for tourist.

Collection is also well presented, mixed between the olds and modern items, including photography, olympic torches with their stories and scuptures. Some scuptures have small inscription, would be good to have a printed version around it.

If you visit, have a go at the prophet box outside.

The Victoria Police Museum is currently located at the World Trade Centre Wharf Building. It will close on Friday 31 Jan. 2021 and relocate to 313 Spencer St, reopening in early 2021. The Museum has many fascinating artefacts, tracing the history of the Victoria Police from the earliest days of colonisation.

Australian opal mines are more prolific and produce more brilliant opals than mines found elsewhere. This treasure trove has opals of all varieties. The colors are truly remarkable. The opalized fossils are marvelous to see. Opals are Australia's national gemstone; the collection is open to everyone. Entry is free.

Nice display of the Italian immigrant group, how they came to Australia and why. My favorite part was the time line that compares what was going on in Europe to what was happening to immigrants to Australia.

Incinerator Gallery is a hub for the creative arts community in Melbourne's. north-western suburbs. The gallery is based on a design by American architect and town planner Walter Burley Griffin. Burley Griffin combined industrial architecture with a design that was pleasing to the senses. Since the building's adaptation to a gallery hosting contemporary art, it has become a popular venue for exhibitions from around Australia.

For those unfamiliar with Australia 's only canonized saint, this little museum provides a worthy introduction. Housed in a place where Many McKillop lived and worked, you get a great sense of her presence.
