Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fresh produce, quirky shops, hipster vibe. This is Melbourne summed up in one place. We wandered for ages and bought a few little things as well as food for dinner. If you go to one place - go to the pie stall (Pie Co?). Their pies were amazing!

Great place to visit to view the history of movies and media. Allow at least an hour to walk through and I like that there are lots of interactive exhibits so you can have a play. The ACMI lens is a fantastic initiative. Very family friendly. Lots of kids around having a go at lots of things, there is so much to see.

The LUME Melbourne is tone of the largest digital art gallery's in the world. The exhibition is titles - Leonardo da Vinci — 500 Years of Genius. He was a polymath indeed when you consider his paintings, inventions, works on anatomy, engineering etc. The Codex Atlanticus notebooks was a special feature in the exhibition. Another important feature is the work of the famous French Optical Engineer, Pascal Cotte who is a consultant to The Louvre Museum. Cotte invented a multispectral camera which scans from ultraviolet to infrared peeling layers of paint showing hidden details of the Mona Lisa. There are many prints of Leonard's paintings and models of some of the inventions. This is an exhibition for all ages and a truly worthwhile visit!

We bought some boots for my girlfriend, it was on sale for (original $170) $80. If you buy two pairs it’s $20 for each, some lovely lady saw us and wanted to buy her pair and ours together. So we bought In the Name of branded boots for $20.

Not everything is on sale though, I paid $80 at JBHIFI for a movie and two seasons of a tv show.

Pretty good to walk from southern cross station and plenty of other deals.

Took my 6 year old grandson here during the school holidays. I didn't know what to expect. Ticket prices were on the steep side, but it looked interesting so I thought we would give it a go.
We had so much fun. On arrival, we looked at all the metal figures on the ground floor. He was particularly interested in the animals as he loves them. Took lots of photos of him with them. He also sat on motorbikes and in big wide-open mouths of various creatures, pretended to shoot canons and guns for photos and generally enjoyed looking at all the exhibits and was amazed at how they were made.
Next, we went to the maze section, which was my favorite part, just so much fun and visually spectacular. We got lost in the column part and had to ask someone to help us out which was funny. We went through all the different 'rooms' twice and just loved it. He had great fun walking through the hanging lights and watching pictures change in the tunnels.
Last, we had a ride in the big Virtual Reality machine (one ride free with every ticket) This was wonderful, so exciting- we did a ride through space on a roller coaster and enjoyed this immensely. He wanted to play some of the games there but at $10 a go for each one I reluctantly said no.
All in all a great fun experience. We really loved it.

Stellar European style open (and closed) market with enormous variety of deli, green grocer, baked goods, sushi and meats (if you’re into them).

Prahran Markets is the why I visit and stay in the area when visiting Melbourne. It’s like an overseas market visit here in Oz.

I’ve found fair prices, excellent service, and charming interactions each visit.

Royal arcade is understated yet beautiful. Got the same vibe as the QVB in Sydney just not as grand. A great stop on Bourke St and you can find Agathe bakery there too.

It was quite by accident that Robin Hood and his band of merry men wandered in to this store recently...Okay, so I am NOT Robin... but after hitting a bar with happy hour, I was certainly in the presence of merry men.

This is a luxury shopping centre in the city, it provides a fusion of fashion, culture, food and art. You almost feel like you have "arrived" when you stumble through the doors ( note- I would not recommend stumbling, but when merry... one does as merry will)

But if you were to be Robin Hood, I would live by the movie quote - "Aw, come on, Robbie. Climb the castle walls. Sweep her off her feet. Carry her off in style." Emporium does not have castle walls, but this is most certainly a place you can sweep someone off their feet and impress them!

Heard that this is an iconic shopping mall of Melbourne, so we went inside . Surprising, we managed to get a pair of shorts @29 (discounted). Items are slightly ex though. Similar to shopping centre (e.g. CK Tang) in Singapore.

I had the best Sunday morning breakfast at the GPO. My waiter Phillip was so lovely and helpful and made sure my order was delivered perfectly. The French music and alfresco atmosphere was wonderful. It’s a wonderful place and right in the heart of town. I’ll be back for sure!
