Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Discovered this one day while wondering along Hosier Lane. Opens around five, and has a charming atmosphere. More of a cocktail bar but does have some good beers.

This is the sort of venue that bands play when they're way too big for the small pokey local venues and not big enough to sell out The Forum (which is only a few blocks away). The sound is usually OK and the place is big enough to hold enough people to raise a ruckus.

In terms of location it's pretty good - just a couple of blocks up from Flinders St Station and there is a mountain of food and drink venues around the place.

My advice is to get there early for your gig and stake out a place on the balcony.

Have travelled from Queensland twice to come to this club. First time the manager was super friendly and explained the different club nights to us and when the busy times were. 2nd time was for Christian Smith.
Both times the crowds were super friendly and not pretentious at all. My husband is 50 and I’m 44 and at no time did we feel like we were among a bunch of kids. Everyone was there for the music and having an amazing time.
The sound systems are amazing and music genres travelling to the deep depths of underground house and techno. Love this place and will continue to come interstate you visit. Music is the answer!

If you're looking for a classy, fun, high energy club, Therapy is where you want to be.
Every week there is different DJ's/Artists from all over the globe coming here to perform, and the vibes are amazing.
Personally I've met Will Sparks here twice, and watched him perform amazingly.
The place can pack out easily but it's a great venue for dancing, drinking and enjoying a good night out. Drink prices are reasonable and the staff are quite happy and fun.
    Highly recommend.

Great venue to see a band.
The drinks are pretty normal prices.
Fantastic to still be able to see international bands at small awesome venues.
Sound was good but could have been a little louder.

The Mendoza Club is the perfect place for you if you enjoy dancing reggaeton all night long. The club is quite hard to find though. But the atmosphere is really good and so is the music ! Enjoy !

Club Retro is an institution but the slow seeping of S Club 7, Five, Eminem, Spice Girls etc. onto the playlist kills the vibe. Keep to the recipe, Retro!

I ama veteran of indie clubs the world over. I mean, I've been to quite a few over the last 10 years (mainly in Europe) and truly, razzmatazz is up there absolutely with the best of them. I went there twice during my last visit to Melbourne in December 2014 and had such an awesome time.

The music is ace, the DJs know how to get it pumping, it's cheap, the bar stuff are super efficient and the people who go there are well up for a good time. The vibe was so relaxed and free! Everyone just had fun.

I will come back here if it's still running - which I'm sure it will be - when I next make it to Aus.

Billboards is a racist club. All of my friends who are all white were accepted however I was denied entry 3 times, being the only brown girl. The bouncer claimed I was too drunk however people that were stumbling around, visibly intoxicated who were white were all accepted, meanwhile I wasn’t. I asked the bouncer why he kept on denying me entry and mentioned that I felt unsafe being by myself as all my friends were inside and he proceeded to ignore me. I then said I can’t help that I am not white and that I have already got my ticket and he kept on saying bad luck you’re not getting in tonight. My advice is to not go to this club if you’re not white because the bouncers will say and do anything to deny you entry.
