But just one thing... can order meals before the show. Only downfall speakers are really really loud and some tables are directly underneath the speakers so show then becomes difficult to enjoy. On the day the staff were very friendly and accommodating and went out their way to make his day special. The food and drinks were amazing, and it was all very affordable. - Paul LHallam, Australia940 contributionsIt is very hard to review a venue that plays live comedy given your experience is going to vary based on how much you enjoyed the show. So let me cover some basics;
It's right in the city. You won't have trouble walking up from a number of local train stations and trams also pass nearby.
The amenities are a little on the small side but are adequate.
The service has always been lovely and the staff very helpful. In my experience of going to several shows they tend to run on time which is helpful!

Having ended up at The George Hotel for some drinks with friends, we were informed that there was a FREE Comedy night taking place upstairs.
After some discussion among the group, we decided to take a chance and see the show. Up some narrow creaky stairs we climbed to a dimly lit little room with a bar running down one side (Excellent news to us, we thought as we wanted more drinks and didn't like our chances of traipsing up the stairs with drinks in hand)
The room was semi-professionally decked out for comedy.. doorways curtained off and seating arranged in a theatrette style facing a stage and a microphone stand.
It hadn't started yet, so we awaited the show to begin by getting another round fo drinks from the obliging bar-tender at our almost private bar !
Soon, the announcement was made that the MC was taking to stage.. and a moment later an animated character cheerfully bounded onto the stage and grabbed the mic..
Some informal chit-chat with our group soon turned to some very funny moments as we to-froed with the MC trying to embarass him but only for him to embarass us.. this set the tone for the night !
A number of comedians in quick sucession then took to the stage with varying styles and abilities to get us laughing, but all were quite good and enthusiastic and the different comics made it exciting as we weren't sure who was coming next.
A Headline act was announced and did quite well with a funny song and some hilarious jokes and dodgy banter with our group.
A couple more comedians to do some short stints on stage then followed with more excellent laughs and that was it.. we finished our drinks and considered ourselves lucky to have stumbled across such a fun comedy night by chance.
