Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw the musical Once there recently and it was really well done, and the old theatre was lovely too.
But just one thing... I prepaid for two cocktails ($19 each) and I don't reckon there was a drop of alcohol in either one... won't get caught doing that, next time I'll watch to see what is (and what isn't) getting poured into the plastic cup.

A visit to Young & Jacksons has become, to me, a ritual happily fulfilled on every visit to Melbourne. Sometimes just one pint, others several, it all depends on the time & what has transpired before? On this visit I was happy that several blokes who had not previously seen Cleo, after my heads up they did just that , headed upstairs and viewed her. A great Melbourne local & always a friendly, funny visit with lots of laughs.

Great atmosphere, amazing selection of whiskeys, and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend not only for whiskey drinkers as there's a range of other drinks.

Hubby loves his whiskey, so a visit here was high on our priorities for our trip to Melbourne.

Staff were great, letting us know where the free seats were when we arrived. Huge whiskey choice naturally.

I don’t drink whiskey, but took one for the team - with my first Whisky Sour. Pretty darn good.

    A must visit!

Section 8 is a casual bar, it's a popular place to hang out. The bar is in Tattersalls Lane, off Little Bourke Street, in the heart of Chinatown. It's not fancy, but it's well-liked by the inner-city trendy crowd.

    Better at Happy Hour
    $10.00 Espresso Martini.
The interior need an upgrade. JT-Aug 2019.

    Pre-movie ... drinks & nibbles ....

Can be difficult to find a table if you are in a big group, but it's quite a convenient place to hang out pre-movie ... lots of options for food and coffee outside, along Lygon St though.

Outdoor verandah with a view. JT-16/10/2017.

My friend and I decided to check out this new venue in the heart of the atrium, Federation Square. You can't miss it as there is a giant yeti in the window. The staff are super nice and attentive.

I will be upfront in saying that place is really expensive and there are hidden costs. You would be best in buying one of the packages as it helps lessen the costs. We got the basic entry which itself was over $30 but included one cocktail. We then we decided to buy 2 digital photos after and they were an additional cost.

Kudos to the safety measures taken to keep you safe and warm - boots, socks, waterproof/insulated poncho and gloves. The place to store your belongings isn't that safe - no lock but is right in front of the front desk, so I guess its safe...even when they are attending to you... there is surveillance inside and outside the iceberg. You are not allowed to take in your cameras or mobiles.

Once inside the ice bar, it takes a while to regulate your breathing and acclimatise. There are ice sculptures inside, including a GOT chair and a gorilla. You can have your photos taken while holding hashtag signs and themed hats you can wear by pressing the buttons scattered around the room on the walls. They are run by a timer so you can see the flashing lights on the cameras facing you so you can choose a pose and be ready in time.

The cocktails are presented in cool ice goblets and are not for the faint hearted as they are strong [yay]- loved my rum cocktail, though I cannot remember its name.

    Tips:
If you can find a voucher for this place it will help with the cost.
Go on a hot day, we did, was great.

MC was great. Four comedians - two were very good, two okay. A good night out, good value for the ticket price. Had a good pub meal beforehand.

We booked a table on the rooftop bar at The Imperial Hotel.

Whilst it’s only 2 levels up and didn’t offer spectacular views like other higher based rooftop bars the atmosphere was very pleasant with views towards Parliament and Paris end of Collins St. Also great to be outdoors in these covid times.

We didn’t dine here but did enjoy a drink.
