Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- AUKTouristNorth East England, UK1,026 contributionsWe visited for the first time on a Sunday evening. A great jazz quartet supported by a singer. The pianist and saxophonist were exceptional. Drinks and pizzas were very good.Written 27 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kim GToronto, Canada1,877 contributionsWent here before a theatre performance when they offer a special pre-set menu.
Since it was early the staff was attentive and the food served quickly.
We enjoyed the steak dinner with a glass of wine. We were too full for dessert but thought it offered good value.Written 28 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nolsie1Melbourne, Australia293 contributionsThe GoGo bar is always busy, located below Chin CHin. It is a very good meeting place, we were there on a Friday night after dinner and it was buzzing. It is located in the heart of Flinder's Lane which is a great area to visit when in MelbourneWritten 27 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Still a great cinema and does show more arty offerings .. nice.Written 27 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The service all night was excellent, the food was good (a few choices for vegetarians which we appreciated), and the atmosphere is tasteful and sophisticated, without being too pretentious (and you don't have to wear formal clothes). The sound was spot on, so credit to the audio engineer.
I was also grateful to the lady running the show that she could accommodate our table request.
Would love to visit again when we come to Melbourne.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After some research I found the Hidden Bar Tour with Depot Adventures. We met Ian and, with a bit of walking between venues, he took us around to 4 totally different and atmospheric bars that you would never find on your own and enjoyed a variety of beer, gin and cocktails. We chose to buy our own but you can get a package which includes the drinks. Ian is very personable and friendly, and loves Melbourne bar history. We had a great afternoon and we would wholeheartedly recommend Ian and Depot Adventures.Written 24 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My friend and I decided to check out this new venue in the heart of the atrium, Federation Square. You can't miss it as there is a giant yeti in the window. The staff are super nice and attentive.
I will be upfront in saying that place is really expensive and there are hidden costs. You would be best in buying one of the packages as it helps lessen the costs. We got the basic entry which itself was over $30 but included one cocktail. We then we decided to buy 2 digital photos after and they were an additional cost.
Kudos to the safety measures taken to keep you safe and warm - boots, socks, waterproof/insulated poncho and gloves. The place to store your belongings isn't that safe - no lock but is right in front of the front desk, so I guess its safe...even when they are attending to you... there is surveillance inside and outside the iceberg. You are not allowed to take in your cameras or mobiles.
Once inside the ice bar, it takes a while to regulate your breathing and acclimatise. There are ice sculptures inside, including a GOT chair and a gorilla. You can have your photos taken while holding hashtag signs and themed hats you can wear by pressing the buttons scattered around the room on the walls. They are run by a timer so you can see the flashing lights on the cameras facing you so you can choose a pose and be ready in time.
The cocktails are presented in cool ice goblets and are not for the faint hearted as they are strong [yay]- loved my rum cocktail, though I cannot remember its name.
Tips:
If you can find a voucher for this place it will help with the cost.

They had a large variety of overseas and local whisky.
There is only one thing better than a great Whisky and that is chatting to the bar person about its history, tasting notes and background.
Kimi who looked after us was a wealth of knowledge and provided us exception service. Cant wait to be back in Melbourne and try some new arrivals.Written 12 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed DSwansea, UK649 contributionsStill an amazing place to watch Melbourne life go by especially when the sun is out like late today but their prices seem to be elevated almost as high as the bar. Quite expensive which isn't good considering the state of the bar - needs cleaning and some basic maintenance.Written 18 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Uschi J14 contributionsGreat lineup & we had a great laugh. This establishment has commercialised every aspect they possibly can which makes good business sense. Food was average although the tiramisu was fabulous! Lots of announcements but friendly service. All in all a good fun night.Written 14 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
